About You
I had an extremely informative and pleasant time during the Insight Programme at DLA Piper. I found the sessions very interesting, and the firm culture absolutely inspiring. The Team that took care of us were so helpful and accommodating. I had a fantastic 3-day experience at DLA Piper, only leaving me more interested to further apply to their future schemes.
I felt extremely valued and taken care of during the Insight Programme at DLA Piper. The team taking care of us were helpful and accommodating, as well as catered to all our needs. I found the environment very friendly, and not intimidating at all. As a student, I was pleasantly surprised with how well they took care of us.
The sessions were all very informative, and they specifically aimed at what we wanted to know at this stage of just having started University in the first year. They provided us with very insightful information regarding their firm, the business, sectors, practice groups, and also a lot of guidance with team exercises.
I believe that everything I learnt at DLA Piper in the course of these three days will definitely help me and go a long way in my career. This programme was the perfect kickstart to a first year work experience, and I am certain I will retain everything I learnt during the programme.
The Company
All the sessions, programmes, interactions, and group exercises were of great value and insight. I found everything informative and lucrative, and felt very privileged to have gained information on areas and fields of law I had no idea of. Hearing about them from expert lawyers and partners was definitely memorable.
The most enjoyable and memorable aspect of DLA Piper as a firm is the culture of the firm. I enjoyed and cherished the atmosphere of the firm, as well as the environment they provided for us. The workplace is professional but not overly rigid, the food they provided was a highlight, and the people are senior but not at all intimidating, and quite friendly.
The firm heavily invested in terms of training and development of the individuals, be it in the form of informative sessions or networking events.
To a large extent, the programme helped us in understanding the work environment of the firm. It was thanks to this kind of information and sessions, that I now know the kind of work that takes place at a firm like DLA, in this field of work especially.
The biggest selling point of DLA is the firm culture in comparison to other rigid competitive firms. The culture of a firm like DLA is what inspired me the most, and would be the biggest deciding factor if I decide to work there in the future.
The content of the insight, the Q&As and the sessions were very informative and insightful. The sessions provided very useful information regarding different sectors and practice groups as well.
Everything Else
All my travel expenses are to be reimbursed, and the accommodation was taken care of by the firm as well,
There were several networking events and opportunities to engage and socialize with partners, associates, and trainees at the firm.
The events were of extremely great quality, through which I had the pleasure to meet a lot of bright minds and gain insight on their favourite aspects of their studies and jobs. The connections I made, I will carry with me for a long time.
The firm engages in an impressive amount of pro bono work, and there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with it within the firm.
Yes, I would definitely recommend this insight programme and any other programmes at DLA Piper to a friend. The kind of exposure a law student gains from attending a programme like this, is a very important and lucrative.
