About You
I really enjoyed the insight scheme and found it extremely valuable for where I am in my career decision making process.
I felt valued during this time as the hospitality at the event was extremely welcoming but also professional.
The structure of the scheme was clear, so at no point was I unsure of the task at hand.
Talks given by the partners were extremely valuable. I appreciated that DLA Piper wanted to demonstrate to us not only why they are such a great firm but also give a real insight into a career in law more broadly.
The Company
Time was used effectively but also in a format that fostered conversation and collaboration.
The atmosphere was really enjoyable - both from the DLA Piper team but also the people I met on the scheme.
Being that it was a first year insight programme I was not expecting vast personal training, however, the scheme did help in the development of my understanding into a what a real career in law is like.
The insight really helped me understand what it would be like to have a full time roll within the firm through talks by partners but also the opportunity to ask trainees questions about what their working lives are like.
One of the key things this programme did for me was give a clear understanding of the culture and ethos of the firm as we had the opportunity to meet numerous people from the firm of all stages.
The content was extremely valuable in helping me decide my future career path, thanks to a true insight into a real career in law.
Everything Else
I believe the firm was very generous with everyone of the scheme.
There were numerous networking sessions with either trainees or associates.
The scheme was set up to encourage sociability which I believe to be quite unique in terms of other insight schemes on the market.
We were introduced to the hospitality side of a career in law and also educated as to the vast pro bono the firm offers.
This insight scheme was extremely valuable for me in a professional sense but also extremely enjoyable socially. The information I have learnt from the three days is something I will take on with me into my future professional life.
