The Role
I enjoyed my placement scheme and had no regrets.
The colleagues in Atlas Copco treated me as a member of their family.
I was given support and guidance by my supervisor but also from other management or colleagues.
I was constantly given tasks/work which helped my organisation skill to enhance. Also I given different projects which helped develop varies skills.
My supervisor trusted me to deliver the quality of work that was needed therefore, my projects were organise independently but had guidance through out.
As an Event Management student, the projects helped develop my; leadership skills, communication, team work, assertiveness and many more.
The Company
Friendly, positive and lively but still in a professional manner
It was well organise and i was happy that we started the same day as other placement students. It give us a chance to network with them and supervisors.
We had multiple training within my placement year. I had training on creating the whole internal web for Atlas (Sharepoint), Loads of team building exercises, social/PR media training, self assessment training.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
Healthcare/Dental
There's a chance but it's more of an engineering company which i have a little knowledge of.
The Culture
I was lucky as we all got along within our year in Atlas therefore we had good social scene within the office and outside.
The cost of living was high however social event such cinema, bowling, gym was moderate
There wasn't much of a night life in Hemel however, we could take the 30 minute train into Watford, St Albans and London. There were a few pubs in area which had a nice live music and a cheap pub like Weatherspoons for us student cheap price drinks.
There were few of activities i did outside such as; games night, football, rock climbing.
