    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I found the Insight Program extremely helpful; the employees we engaged with were eager to answer questions, and we were given a real 'insight' into what life is like at DLA. The program was well structured, and I felt I gained information that will be very helpful when I apply for vacation schemes this upcoming autumn.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Each day was filled with a variety of talks given by partners who graciously gave their time to share their thoughts, and to answer our questions. The fact that senior members of the London office were willing to give us large amounts of their time showcased how serious DLA was about making the Insight worthwhile.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I received thoughtful answers to any questions I asked throughout the program. Further, I received advice on how to improve in various relevant areas. There was also an abundance of opportunities to network, and to find individuals to learn from.Importantly, the overall environment was welcoming, I felt comfortable asking my questions.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The program firmed my interest in a career in commercial law. We were given valuable insight into how different practice groups operated, as well as what sets DLA apart from other city firms. After the program, I am sure that I would enjoy working at a firm like DLA should I be fortunate enough to do so.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The program covered as much information as could reasonably be expected over the course of three days. We received talks on a variety of issues, ranging from CV workshops to how commercial law firms actually earn profits. Further, our meals even doubled as networking opportunities with trainees. If I could make any changes to the structure of the program, I would decrease the duration of the meal times so that we could fit in several more excellent talks!

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • All the DLA employees I interacted with were obviously extremely capable, but in addition to that DLA seemed to be full of uniquely friendly individuals. I genuinely enjoyed every DLA employee I was able to interact with, and found that they were equally interested in learning about me. As a non-law student, I never felt that my questions were silly; senior individuals routinely took the time to help me gain a better understanding of legal issues.
