About You
The trading exercise was interesting but not very useful as it didn't really show what the actual daily job entails. The talks however were were very informative and helped me gain a further understanding into asset management and provided me with more substance to select my career pathway.
Obviously none of the actual employees cared what or who we were as individuals but the snacks and drinks were top notch.
During the networking, Holly was very helpful in providing advice from experience and she was also very friendly and approachable. In terms of the actual trading exercise, there was no support.
Most of the stuff were fairly obvious but the talks on the industry and their personal experiences were very helpful.
The Company
The timings of the exercise and the fluidity between the different sessions were smooth.
As with any other banking experience, the atmosphere between the undergrads was somewhat mixed but the staff created a welcoming atmosphere.
They would not invest anything anyway because we are only first years.
I learnt that the job was more relaxed and progression flat compared to ib.
They talked about their company and the progression structure including volunteering days.
It taught me the differences between asset management and investment banking.
Everything Else
It is a free event so we don't need to be paid.
We had a networking session during lunch. If anything it was long emough. However there were no one to ones.
No personal but mainly groip interactions led to little to grasp for the future.
We learnt about volunteering days that they had during the year.
Yes because it is a good experience and there is knowledge to be learnt
