The Role
I love a challenge and this placement kept me on my toes and made me work at getting everything out of my internship.
The more I offered my team help and completed projects for the them, the more they approached me and asked me to work with/for them on other projects. I felt that I was valued highly by the team by the end of the internship.
My supervisor was a very strong minded and career driven person who provided me with great incentive to push myself and get everythign I could out of the internship.
It varied. Some days I was working non-stop and others it took a while to locate work and get into a project but overall the longer you are there the easier it is to gain a balance.
I was given quite a lot. One of our team went on a secondment and she left me with the task of finalising and closing her project.
I cannot stress just how beneficial this opportunity was. A great skill set and an amazing opportunity to peak into the working world.
The Company
It was a good balance. When it was coming to the end of the financial year the office was crazy busy but then after that the storm calmed and it was fun.
Overall, the internship was well organised. However, at times there were gaps where I felt there could have been more input from the internship team.
Very mych so. The fact they involve you in real projects and put you through a real process like that experienced by graduates, it proves that they invest highly in interns.
Company Parties/Events
I am very pleased that I received a job offer after my internship as it proved that my time and effort was noticed and rewarded. More importantly than that though, it means that I can finish my third year knowing that I can walk straight into a well-respected job after graduating.
The Culture
Yes, although the internship team didnt put that many events on, the interns themselves made a great effort to meet up socially during lunch and after work etc.
It was based in London bridge so it wasn't cheal but we found the places that were suitable for student budgets.
Great location for bars or clubs.
yes there were a few, but not that many.
