About You
The insight has been a very good learning experience for me, the people I met there were amazing, supportive and fun to talk to. The program is planned so that we get exposed to what Barclay's does and the quality that Barclay's maintain in order to remain on top. Overall it has been very enjoyable
The program is made in a way that everyone of us gets to participate and contribute and I feel like no one is left out. Such as in the work shadowing session, an employee is assigned to two students so that each gets a personalized experience with alot of interaction. As a result I do feel very valued
The people in charge of the event are super helpful. During the event we get to talk to industry experts who are very experienced in the field. In the panel session they are able to answer questions with useful great details and in the social session we get to talk to them personally and they gave us amazing guidance
Both the skills and information received are essential for me to have a good idea of industry standards. I will keep in mind as I progress thorough my university life. I also gained information on what to expect after I graduate and a good idea of what it would take to meet the industry standards
The Company
Every program in the agenda gave us useful information and experience. On top of that the breaks are timed so that we wouldn't be too overwhelmed. Maybe it would have been better if interviews and presentations were separate but probably time was limited as this spring week was only 4 days instead of 5 so it's understandable
It was very positive, we have like minded students who are looking to develop their careers and as a result everyone was driven but friendly to each other. The event coordinators were also friendly and had a positive tone. we were also very well treated throughout the event so I'm guessing everyone is happy
Alot, they booked the Hilton hotel to keep us well fed and provided us a good environment. They structured the program so that we get to go to the office to see what it is like to work at Barclay's and they got experts to give useful information to us
From the moment I saw how happy and friendly the people were from Barclay's I could tell the culture there is good, people are valued and we would get to work on live changing projects when we work there. It gives me hope and makes me want to work there
Everything Else
We were paid for the entire duration. Our trading tickets were paid for us to go to Edinburgh. People who came from other parts of uk were given high quality accommodation. During the event our food expenses were also taken care of so we all got good monetary support from the event
We all got to meet people from the company through events such as social networking and work shadowing session. They were all friendly and approachable and shared with us their insights so that we would be up to date with what the company does and prepare us for our working lives
Definitely, especially if that friend is looking to improve his or her career path and to gain insight on how the industry works. There are so many opportunities to meet up with people who are experienced in their respective field and at the same time they get the chance to apply for the internship
