The Role
There were lots of activities organised in order to get to know the other interns and the people I worked with on a daily basis were extremely supportive in ensuring I made the most out of my time at the firm.
Throughout my time at Deloitte I felt that I really got to know the people I worked with which provided a comfortable environment to work in and enjoy the experience. I felt appreciated for everything I did, no matter how trivial or small the task was.
I felt that I was able to ask questions at any time which was very important to me as it allowed me to gain the most out of the scheme. I also enjoyed the variety within the team which allowed me to learn from both managers as well as junior analysts.
I always had work to be getting on with, however my team appreciated the work/ life balance in ensuring that the work was evenly spread throughout its members so people did not feel over-burdened with work.
I was responsible for completing my own sections of the projects I worked on which allowed me to gain a good experience of what a graduate would do as I was subject to manager and partner review like the rest of my team.
As I am returning to Deloitte the skills I gained will give me a head-start on joining the firm as a graduate.
The Company
There was definitely an atmosphere of being there to work hard, however you could tell that people genuinely got along with one another in the office which made for a light hearted atmosphere.
The placement was set up well.
We had training and an away day which were good. The real development that I feel I got though was through working on the projects where my individual managers ensured that I got the most out of the experience.
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Accepted a graduate position with Deloitte.
The Culture
It was good, although it was often difficult to keep in contact with those students working in different service lines.
London is never cheap but there are some well priced pubs in the area.
Good opportunities to socialise.
Only really socialising with the other interns.
