About You
I really enjoyed the insight week, It was actually my first time in Scotland and I had the opportunity to visit both Glasgow and Edinburgh. The speakers were really interesting and I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of different people from the industry and learn a lot with them.
They paid for everything, including a 5-star hotel in the centre of Glasgow, in an incredible room. Moreover, they were always interested in our well-being, with plenty of coffees and breaks being provided. Having said that, the days could be quite long, especially when we had to go Edinburgh and come back in the same day.
To the point that was necessary. During the spring week, we were mostly receiving information and learning rather than doing something, apart from a final presentation. We had an app where we could do any communication and also the phone of the person in charge if anything happened or if I had any questions.
It is good to understand that I don't necessarily need to do a technical background to work in technology in the bank or somewhere else. I better understood what an employer truly expect out of me and how I can develop it through university. The networking session and shadowing were very important to understand this, as I was able to develop a greater relationship with them.
The Company
We had our own app where we could communicate with each other and see the schedule ahead. They usually followed it to the minute or close to it. Some technical problems happened, but they were either solved or worked around, in a way that they always delivered the presentation with minor delays.
Very chilled, much better than I actually expected. Most people did not wear suits, and almost no one used ties, whether in the hotel where most of the spring week happened or in the offices during our shadowing sessions. The other spring weekers were also very friendly and approachable.
very much
I completely understand what would be expected of me in the jobs I am interested in.
I am not sure about the other divisions, but I understand the culture of the tech division and it is very different from the expected culture of a bank to be honest. I liked it
It was very helpfull
Everything Else
Yes, networking events, shadowing and grad panels.
really good, everyone was approachable and friendly. There was also food and drinks
Yes, there are some activities outside of work but they were not advertised to us, I just saw them through the office.
Yes, I would very much. Especially if you do not have a technical background but an interest in technology.
