About You
The three day event was engaging, motivating and a great opportunity to learn about working at UBS. I found the variety of the activities meant that we could experience how it is like to work in different divisions. It was also a great chance to meet like minded people with the similar aspiration.
The programme focused a lot on making sure that we were engaged. The workshops were A great way to make us practice what we learnt about the different divisions. The organisers constantly encouraged us to ask questions and get the most out of the programme in order to increase our understanding.
We had sessions on commercial and competency based interviews. This was very helpful as it get gave an introduction to how we can prepare for future assessment centres. The in-depth introduction into the divisions was also accompanied by a workshop, where we had a graduate worker helping us. This meant that we always had someone supporting us.
The skills I developed here will help me focus on the area if my degree that will help me in the future. It also encouraged me to read more around the area that will better prepare me for the workplace in the future. It will also help me to research around my preferred job role more.
The Company
The programme was well structured. Everyday we had something interesting to do. Every session was followed by a workshop which was very helpful. We were also constantly seated next to different people, which meant that we had an opportunity to meet different people with different background and interact with them.
The general atmosphere was friendly. The organisers we're very approachable. They were always ready to answer our questions. The speakers were open to talk about their past experience. The participants of the programme were helpful to each other. This meant that I felt that we were all there to learn and support each other.
The programme was focused on developing core skills we need in this sector. We had a session on interview skills, which will be helpful in the assessment for summer internships. The workshops also helped us pick up skills necessary for the specific divisions, which will be crucial if we come back to work in that division.
It was very helpful because we got to meet people who are actually working at UBS. It was helpful to hear their perspective on day to day life at the office. They told us what a typical day looks like. We meet recent graduates who work here, whom we asked to describe how it feels like to work here.
The insight was helpful in helping us understand the company culture. We got to know about the 'take 2' programme, which allows workers to take out 2 hours per week in order to do things outside if work. This helps in keeping a good work life balance, which is a good culture.
It was helpful as I got to see what the different divisions look like. The exposure to these various areas of the company helped me to distinguish between the different responsibilities in the company. It also showed us what skills are needed for the different job types and if this fits with our aspirations.
Everything Else
There were various opportunities to meet people who work here who were willing to share their past experience. There was also a chance to talk to many workers from different divisions, who were willing to answer our questions. This was very helpful as it gave us a good perspective of working at UBS.
