About You
Really enjoyed getting the insight from the top professionals in the field. I enjoyed how we had workshops which were interactive and really pleasant people o be around.. it’s exciting to so welcomed and involved in this professional and inspiring environment and I enjoyed how the few days took such well regimented structure so we got the I’ll experience possible
I felt very valued at he company. As the future workforce it is evident UBS invests heavily in student and graduates and feel valued and welcomed. How the assessors made notes on our ideas and made us feel integra to the Business was reassuring and empowering. Very valued and enjoyable both ways. Thank you
We recieved a lot of guidance when necessary, for example learning through doing type tasks. This was useful, but also given independence was important as we were able to laterally think about certain scenarios and given tasks. I think this was important for the learning and development of the students.
I learnt a lot about many different fields which augment my degree. As a business and management student I learnt more about finance, bonds and valuation which are integral to the course. The mentality of an investment backer can be applied to management and decisions which coalesce with my degree.. also stocks, shares and trading is essential for me and my personal interests too.. I’ve leant more here these few days than I have learnt in many lectures!
The Company
Very well structured. Everything was timed well regimented which gave us the best possible chance to cram as much in as possible. I enjoyed how well organised it was and made it a more enjoyable experience. The structure was quite tiring however, since we were exposed to the same ‘talk-then-workshop’ format.. maybe this could be shaken up a little? Nevertheless his was a good challenge and insight into our future work life balance! However I liked how we had different tables to work with different people and certain types of workshop.. thank you. Really well executed, and organised, thank you [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions]
Really pleasant. Some spring insights have a competitive vibe, however here the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. Both of staff and students.. who’s made the experience more enjoyable as I felt like I could question and challenge at will in a fantastic environment where I felt at ease but also challenged.
Personally, all the efforts and time dedicated form all the staff was personal and well invested. I felt like my knowledge gained would be testament to how much I put into it. So essential I had all the resources at hand to use. This was a fantastic opportunity and am lucky to have been exposed to so much experience and knowledge. Also the train fares and hotel was of course great!
It was a good thorough taste of what the role within the firm may be like. I enjoyed the insight and talks, and I’m sure it’s hard to get work shadowing opportunities: this may be a more raw and hands on experience for us yet the workshops were obviously replacement for this given the time.
The insight was paramount in getting us to understand the values and ethos at UBS. This is integral to the company and of much importance. There fore getting us to understand the 3 keys and culture/ background was really important and useful for us to identify with the company .
Really helpful, getting industry knowledge and personal experience from seniors was good, but also the perspective of graduates helping with the he workshops was very useful for us as we can relate to their positions more, given they are where we want to ideally be in a few years time. Such insights helped me, however work shadowing and office experience would have of course been incredible, despite the time limitations.
Everything Else
Not yet been reimbursed but have had confirmation my application is being processed
Yes, the few days themselves provided opportunities to network. Either via in person or through linked in and networks alike. We were given opportunities to ask questions and understand the roles for employees here. Also the networking event at the end is a great opportunity to informally meet people and enquiry about certain areas
Yes we were shown the gym and other facilities and the benefits package was explained briedfly. However additional information her may be relevant as we are aware of the long hours, so keeping some people engaged with external benefits or hobbies will be encouraged I think. I like to know about what other employees are doing.
