About You
I found the insight programme at Deutsche Bank to be a very enjoyable and valuable experience. It was targeted at our personal development and learning, and it was clear to see how much time, money and effort had been invested in the programme, ensuring we got the most out of the week.
During my short time at Deutsche Bank, I was made to feel very valued by members of staff, who welcomed us with open arms into the business. We had the opportunity to meet with senior members of staff, who had given up their valuable time to speak to us. The Head of the UK division of Deutsche Bank stressed the importance of graduate recruitment to the bank, making us feel valued as interns.
Throughout the insight programme at Deutsche Bank, I felt very well supported by staff and other interns alike. Staff at Deutsche Bank ensured we felt comfortable and supported with the tasks we were completing and the other interns were very encouraging of one another, providing help and guidance where needed.
The skills and knowledge I gained during this insight week will undoubtedly aid me in the future. I was able to develop my understanding of the day-to-day running of the bank, as well as develop industry-specific knowledge. In addition to this, I built upon my communication and networking skills, which will be beneficial in the future irrespective of what career path I choose to pursue.
The Company
I found this insight programme to be well structured. There was a carefully organised timetable of activities and we were provided with a daily itinerary, enabling us to prepare for upcoming activities. I found this to be very useful. There was a good variety of activities and everything we did was targeted at our personal development.
I found employees at Deutsche Bank to be really pleasant and the general atmosphere reflected this.
As mentioned before, it was evident how much time, effort and money had been invested into this insight programme and into our personal development. There was a specific Early Careers team dedicated to ensuring this programme was the best it could be and that we got the most out of it. Personally, I felt that I developed a lot from this programme.
The two days that we spent shadowing a chosen desk was a great way to understand what it would be like to have a full time role at Deutsche Bank. During this time, I was able to see the typical tasks that graduate analysts do on a day to day basis.
There is undoubtedly a culture of high performance at Deutsche Bank but this goes hand in hand with a culture of responsibility and this was clear to see from the insight programme. Employees were dedicated and passionate about their roles and the organisation and the insight programme is a great opportunity to see this first hand.
This insight is valuable in helping to determine a future career path as it provides a comprehensive overview of the banking sector as well as the different divisions and departments that make up the bank. This provides a clearer indication of where your skills may be best placed and where your interests lie.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed my travel expenses and this included travel and accommodation costs.
Yes, there were plenty of chances to network on this insight programme. On a daily basis, I had the opportunity to meet new employees from different divisions of the bank. In addition to this, we had a number of formal networking events that Deutsche Bank had organised for the interns.
The networking opportunities during this insight programme were really great! They were well organised and designed to make us feel at ease. I never felt uncomfortable during these networking events and the employees, including senior members of staff, were more than happy to answer our questions and provide career advice.
Yes, there are plenty of charity initiatives and sporting events that employees can get involved in.
100%, I would recommend this insight programme at Deutsche Bank to a friend!
