Women in Fund Insight Day Review

The insight is quite useful for me. The structure is well-organised and employees are kind. The trading session is quite interesting. During the networking with employees, I've got a lot experience on my career, and I know more about how investment management firm operates. It gives me a lot guidance on my career.

It is a great opportunity for me to know more about the company and industry. As it is my first insight in a investment management firm, the insight tells me the difference between investment management firms and investment banks. It helps a lot in my further application on my intern or graduate job.

The employees presented the work experience in M&G. They also shared their experience on how to apply for the job and some useful tips on recruitment. During the networking, I've got a lot useful guidance on my career. It helps me to decide my career in the next recruitment season.

The trading game gave me a guidance on how to analyse equities and react to the news in the market. Although it does not take to much time, it helps me to know how to build a trading mind in the future. More importantly, the whole insight showed me a world of investment management firm. It made me more clear about how to spend my university time and apply my job in the future.

It is quite well-structured. Following each trading exercise, there was a presentation or a rest. The arrangement of time made me feel comfortable and never tired. It gave the opportunities of both developing skills and receive information, which are useful for me to learn and develop quickly in my study and career.

I have talked with many senior employees from different department. They are from different background, which I think the culture of the firm is very diversified. It was excellent as all employees in the firm are very kind and energetic, which make me feel M&G is a extremely friendly environment to work in.

The company designed a trading exercise for us. We read the fundamental information of ten companies and read latest news, then decide our portfolio based on those information. The trading game gave us a guidance on how to develop trading skills, especially for each feedback session, which gave the reason why some companies' price grow or drop rapidly and how portfolio performed.

The employees have shared their experience on the daily work. And the insight gave me an opportunity to talk with people from different roles.

It really helps as I found the culture of the company is sooooo excellent. Everyone in the firm is full of energetic and smiles every time. Especially, a fund manager told me a sentence which is impressive for me: We can teach you technical knowledge and skills after you enter the firm, but you need to find yourself before you enter the firm.

In the previous time, I was a little confused with the work in investment banks and investment management firms. But after this insight day, I found more about the industry, which is very useful for me to decide my future career path, especially the summer internship in the next year.

The networking session was very useful and the environment made me comfortable. Everyone was very kind and they were really helpful. They shared their experience about their work. More importantly, it seems that everyone in the firm is happy and enjoys their work in M&G. It made me feel the company is quite friendly.
