The Role
I really enjoyed my placement due to challenging work, the responsibility given to me and the kindness of the people that work for Savills.
I was treated no differently from a graduate. I was given the same work, level of responsibility and was made to feel as part of the team as anyone else. I am still in touch with my team and have even met some of them for a coffee since my placement.
The support was brilliant whilst on placement. I was given the chance to try things for myself first, but there was always someone willing to help or point me in the right direction whether Grad or Director.
It was busy during my placement, but that just made me feel more a part of something. There is nothing worse than not having enough to do.
I was given the same responsibility as a Graduate. My team in particular let me take on as much as I wanted and even helped to push me to be able to take on more and more.
The skills I learnt in my department (Valuation) are fundamental to my career and have set me in good stead for the future.
The Company
The office (whilst relatively small) had a great atmosphere with everyone being approachable and keen to be social inside and outside work hours.
The placement was well organised, no complaints here really.
Savills were very good in terms of investing in its people and being a placement student made no difference to this. Savills really understand the value of interns, something which cannot be said for all the firms.

I am not working for Savills now although I enjoyed my time there thoroughly.
The Culture
There was a good social scene with people always keen to go for coffee/drinks after work.
Lets face it working in Mayfair is never going to be cheap, but it was a great place to work and it doesn't take too long to find places to suit the budget.
There are good pubs and bars in the area and its easy to get to soho and oxford st so no problems here.
You could get involved in as much or as little as you wanted.
