About You
Overall a useful experience - was particularly interesting to get an insight into the technologies that are at the forefront of business innovation today. The most enjoyable part was the hackathon, as it was nice to be more actively involved. Being fast tracked to assessment centre is definitely a bonus!
Certainly felt valued in the sense that EY had invested a lot into the programme - it was nice to be given accomodation for the two nights, free drinks and social, meals etc. To some extent the experience was quite impersonal, but that’s expected for a large programme of this nature.
Not a huge amount of personal guidance was necessary apart from in the Hackathon, and our facilitator for that (Serge) was brilliant - really full of energy and ideas.
The information about EY itself was perhaps aimed more at first-year students who are making career plans for the first time, rather than at second years like myself, but felt a bit excessive and irrelevant at times. The industry insights, however, were interesting, and I willl carry them forward.
The Company
Very well structured - ran to time, and exactly as organised! Sometimes felt a bit too focused on being talked at/powerpoints.
Generally a lively and open atmostphere, with participation and questions encouraged. Again, it did sometimes feel a bit flat during the long presentations about EY business areas.
Not very applicable - the training etc was not focused on individuals.
There was a good focus on hearing from employees about their experiences. The panel session was especially useful for this!
Was something very highly emphasised in the presentations, and reinforced by interactions with EY staff!
Felt a little bit drowned in information about EY at times, meaning that I lost the bigger picture. Again, was probably more aimed at first-years.
Everything Else
Very generous reimbursements given the length of the programme!
Was a great idea to organise the social, which was a nice combination of doing something fun and chatting to people. EY employees were always milling around during the programme too!
As above!
We were told about them, but not necessarily in a structured/comprehensive way.
Yes - fast track to assessment centre is a huge bonus, and a good opportunity to meet like-minded students.
