    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Fantastic opportunity to learn more about what EY are doing to digitally disrupt both their clients and themselves, as well as networking with peers and potential employers. Relaxed atmosphere but everyone knew their stuff and could answer any questions thrown at them. Transportation and accommodation were both paid for in advance, which just made the whole experience much easier.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • It’s a two day insight, so it’d be pretty hard for them to value you like family, but everyone was really friendly and there were lots of opportunities for networking and asking questions. One slight criticism would be that the first day involved a lot of talking at you rather than to you.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Again, it’s only two days, so not much guidance is needed, but they communicated well throughout the application process as well as the insight itself as to what was expected of you. There was also a lot of information on recruitment opportunities and a session on tips for assessment centres and interviews.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Fantastic information on digital trends that will influence the working world going forward, which is great knowledge to have even if I don’t pursue a career at EY. Might not help me with my degree but will definitely help my career. Not much emphasis on skills development, but as it’s only two days that would have been pretty difficult.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Really well structured, with good information provided both beforehand and during the event as to what was going on and when. Breaks were built in to the day, which was very useful in reducing the intensity. Only suggestion would be to have more interaction in the afternoon sessions: was v difficult to concentrate on presentations after lunch!

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Obviously it’s not going to be the most fun experience ever (it’s an insight) but EY had really worked hard to make the event as fun and interesting as possible. The general atmosphere was also really helped by the fact that everyone was really passionate about what they were doing and seemed to really enjoy working at the company.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • They had obviously put a lot of time and effort into the event, but it’s still only a 2 day insight.

    2/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • As it’s only two days we only really got an overview of life at the firm.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • There was a heavy emphasis on culture, but it was difficult to tell if this was just a sales pitch and if it was consistent throughout the firm.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was as useful as it could have been, but ultimately it’s still a 2 day insight.

    3/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Expenses were handled fantastically well - EY paid for transport and accommodation in advance so there was no issue of applying for reimbursement.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were plenty of opportunities for networking with those working for tech departments within the firm.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Junkyard Golf was really good fun but not amazing for networking - slightly too loud and encouraged you to split off into groups so it was hard to get to know everyone. Ended up talking to the same people I had met earlier in the day and sticking with them.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There was little information on activities outside of work, but this was expected.

    1/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Overall it was great fun and gave me a good idea of the opportunities at EY for digital disruption.

    4/5
