About You
The Discover EY: Digital Disruption insight programme was an incredibly informative and interesting event. It gave us all insight into what EY does in its different service lines with it being angled mainly towards technology and disruption. We were well looked after and I am glad I attended the programme.
From the hotel, to the food, to the networking social, to the information and speakers, I felt really well taken care of. There was never a moment where I felt neglected or pushed aside. The EY staff were incredibly helpful and were always willing to go out of their way to make sure we were comfortable.
There was never a time where I didn’t know what was going on or where I was unsure of something. We were told everything we needed and wanted to know without even asking. The information given during the event was comprehensive and the staff were thorough in answering any questions we had.
As this was an insight programme, the information I learned during the two days will assist me in applying to the summer internship programme for next year. It will be especially helpful during interviews and should I get the internship, it will help me make the most of the it.
The Company
Everything during the two days was perfectly structured from arrival to breakfast to the talks, panels, breaks and activities. We were always running on time and never felt rushed or felt that things went too slowly. The staff at the ETC venue were also incredible in organising the food and beverage service and the venue in general.
The atmosphere was always professional, yet cheerful and encouraging. I thought that perhaps when the more senior staff came to speak to us they might be a bit rushed and disinterested in answering questions and talking to university students, but in fact they were the complete opposite. Always fully engaged and interested in every conversation.
The firm made sure to include students from around Europe by covering travel and accommodation expenses, as well as providing meals. This made it far more accessible to a lot of people who otherwise would not have been able to attend this great programme. This is a lot more than most other firms would do.
We received talks on each service line in the firm detailing what each does as well as technological demonstrations to make things more interesting. We also did interactive activities that helped us understand more about what certain sectors do. These were very helpful in enlightening us on what it would be like to work for EY full time.
Through the Q&A panel discussion, we learned a lot about company culture - especially about how inclusive and people oriented EY is as a firm. EY is definitely a firm I’d like to work for in future if I get the opportunity as I know they treat their staff the best out of the other big 4.
Everything Else
EY booked and paid for all our travel and hotel accommodation for the duration of the insight programme including breakfasts, lunches and dinner.
There were plenty opportunities to network with staff from the firm, as well as other students from around Europe who attended the programme.
