About You
It was an enjoyable experience in overall. In particular, I enjoyed the technology showcase which I get to know more about blockchain (and see how bitcoin mining is done!). However, I feel that the info session could be more interactive and more two-way discussions involved (panel event is wonderful).
It was an enjoyable experience after all. The staff are friendly and approachable. Also, the social was great (you get to play golf though).
In-depth knowledge towards each service line, especially WYX and Pepper (the AI robot, not sure whether I spelled it correctly though). The sharing of experience by ex-ACP participants helped me to decide which service line should I go into when looking for summer internship and graduate programme.
This event was really insightful, where you actually got to know what they are doing at the moment. It helped me to learn more about the current trend in Technology (block chain, AI etc).
The Company
In overall, the event was well-structured. The talk by [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is insightful and eye-opening. The hackathon wad another highlight of the event, where we actually get to pitch our ideas in technology with the guidance from EY staff. However, the introductor session to different service line could be improved by inviting partners and managers to talk, instead of the recent graduates.
I love the hackathon! Everyone was so hyped out during the hackathon and there was a lot of communication around (I would say it was the highlight of the event). The social was well-planned as well! I would never imagine myself playing golf in a pub though. It did encouraged communication among the participants. Well done!
I do not think that personal training is the main point of this event as this is more like an insight session for freshmen. In fact, there are 90 participants in the room. However, I did takeaway some skills and cutting-edge knowledge about technology from the event. It is more like a discovery journey rather than a self-development programme.
The information session and panel event involved a lot of experience sharing from the EY staffs, including [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions], the Chief Innovation Officer of EY and the partner of Cyber Security. I get to know more how is the life at EY looks like to me, particularly as an intern and ACP graduate. It was insightful.
As above, the EY employees were generous to share their days in EY, which I found insightful and interesting. However, what they told us is mainly what we can read on the website. Their personal experience earns my stars though.
After the event, I get to know more how consultancy and advisory work looks like, and it helps me to decide whether should I follow this career path. The network I gained from this event helps me a lot as they provide their personal opinion which is relevant to my decision.
Everything Else
I live in London so I do not receive travel reimbursement and accommodation arrangement (less than 1.5 hours commute away).
The social and lunches enable me to meet and talk to a lot of employees.
Playing golf with EY employees was unexpected, but it turned out effective in fostering long-lasting relationship.
The panels invited get to share about their work-life balance and what they did outside of work.
In overall, it was an enjoyable and insightful event. You get to meet EY employees, learn what they did and a fast track opportunity to assessment centre. Why not?
