    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I attended the EY Digital Disruption Programme. This was an invaluable opportunity that gave me an incredible insight into the divisions within EY and how they operate. There was a particular focus on Technology which was very interesting and gave me an understanding of how technology is used within different sectors.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt incredibly valued during my two day insight. There was food and drinks provided at all times throughout the day so you are kept hydrated and well fed. Any issues that arose during the programme were dealt with immediately. The EY culture was definitely shown throughout this programme.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During this programme guidance was provided when required, in particular during the Hackathon. The guidance given was just the right amount; we were still able to complete the project mostly on our own allowing the group to receive the full benefits of completing the task.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The Hackathon developed my skills in teamworking. In the Hackathon we had to work together to create a solution to a problem using technology. This task improved my ability to work with colleagues and build on an idea and then ultimately convert that idea into a final solution. The information received during the two days were excellent. I have been given a real insight into the different sectors within EY and what areas I believe I will succeed in most. Being able to network has allowed me to gain connection that I will use in the future.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme was very well structured. Everything that was planned happened on time, which was excellent to see. The breaks were at excellent times throughout the day which ensured that each section of the day was equally benefiticial. The social in the evening was also very well organised.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere during the 2 days was excellent. Everyone who spoke was very engaging and ensured that the day never got boring. The speakers were very enthusiastic and most of them involved the students, which made the experience a lot more interesting. Also, my fellow students who took part were excellent to work with. This enhanced the atmosphere even further.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was a lot of development and investment that went into the programme. We were constantly being introduced to EY employees throughout the two days. This allowed me to find out more information about the company first hand, which was one of the key reason that I applied for the programme.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This insight provided me with a significant understanding on what it would be like to work in EY. The speakers were excellent at protesting the culture at EY, this was one of the key benefits of the programme. I am also a lot more aware of what is expected of me if I was to work at EY.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The programme was very good at helping me understand the EY culture. I had a knowledge of the culture of EY prior to the event but I had not experience it first hand. Seeing the staff actually show what the culture is like was excellent. It provided me with proof that the culture is what EY says it is.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was useful in helping me decide a future career path. I am still unsure as to what specific division I am interested in, however this programme has helped me narrow down the career paths that I am interested in. The talks by EY employees were the key factor in me deciding what career path I was interested in.
