About You
Very enjoyable because I did have an interest in technology but wanted to learn a lot more about it. This provided a brilliant insight into the different technologies being developed at EY and a great opportunities to talk to other employees of EY in the tech teams and learn what they do.
There were lots of opportunities to have one to one networking which made me feel especially valued during my time. This is invaluable for finding out what projects members of EY are currently working on and was a lot better than going to a careers fair for example. Not to mention the food and drink was brilliant too.
Lots of support and guidance. A member of EY sat at our table and helped guide us through the hackathon exercise. Also everyone at EY is very happy to answer any questions!!! On the first day we did not have a EY member at our table but this was ok as we had the opporunity to talk to some later at the social. Lots of recruitment advice was given too.
I am from a STEM- Chemistry and do not know that much about technology within financial services and in other industries. This really built on my kwowledge here - a lot more than I can get off of google. The presentation exercise in front of around 70 people was also good for my confidence
The Company
Very well structured and organised. A jam packed 2 days. The HR team at EY did an excellent job and they pretty much managed to cover all of EY services into the 2 days. All my questions I arrived with were answered as there was many times to ask questions.
Everyone at EY was friendly also lovely spending time with the other applicants. A nice and relaxed atmosphere. I did not feel uncomfortable and overall had a great 2 days. Even the introduction with the CIO was not as daunting. Met lots of very driven people also interested in technology which is great for networking.
Invested in the participants pretty well. Lots of support and guidance. It is a two day events therefore there was defnitely less training than on an internship but I am very confident that a internship at EY would allow lots of training and personal development from speaking to other interns.
A lot. I spoke to many people from EY so was able to get a pretty good idea of what a full time role at EY would be like. I definitely see myself applying to EY in the future for roles as I feel they would be a great company to work for
You usually can get an insight of culture by chatting to others at EY. At uni, a traditional networking event would be standing in a room with drinks. At the end of the first day, we went to play mini golf with other people at EY which was brilliant and a lot more comfortable and gave me a great insight into the culture.
The insight program gave me some brilliant knowledge about the current digital disruption and technologies. I am very exctied to work in technology in the future and to be involved in something like AI or data analytics. We had a technology showcase which really gave me an idea of the different tech EY is working on
Everything Else
I was reimbursed on my travel expenses and you get to stay in a hotel with costs covered if you live far enough away. EY definitely spent a lot of money on this event - it was in a lovely conference building, wih brilliant food and drinks (very good coffee) and big prizes too.
Yes. There were plenty of opportunities over the first and second day. I spoke to EY employees at the social event which was a nice and relaxed environment to get to know more about the consultants and what projects they are currently working on- as well as learning about their work life balance.
We went to Junk Yard Golf to play mini golf. This was a good social to get to know others on the programme as well as network and learn about the journey other people at EY have taken. You also can network at lunch and breakfast and breaks. So lots of opportunities there.
Yes. I found out that there are lots of activities that employees can become involved in. These include volunteering, and extra training courses for example. There are lots of ways to increase personal development. Another example is that the employees can get involved in insight opportunities such as digital disruption.
I would absolutely. This is a great opportunity to make new connections, learn a lot more about technology and also meet people my age, going through the same processes and interested in technology like I am. EY treated me extremely well and I definitely had a great 2 days there.
