About You
Great programme at a great location. Provided with insightful information about the work EY does, its aims and the role students play in the company. Great speakers as well as a great location. The focus on technology and its disruptive nature in the modern age is very interesting and shows how the firm as a leader in its field is always aware of future threats to their position.
Despite the size and prestige of the company EY truly emphasises the value it placed on students, their skills, their training and their role in the company which makes it the innovative and forward thinking force it is today. There are a variety of opportunities and access points for students to join as seen by the provision of such spring programmes.
There were several staff on hand to provide us with sufficient guidance and support whenever necessary on a number of issues ranging from finding the location to questions about specific company roles. Support was also stressed by the staff who wanted to make sure attendees were comfortable and calm at all times.
I truly believe this programme has opened my eyes to the intricacies of the financial sector and how technology is applicable anywhere and everywhere. As a university students the knowledge gained and skills cultivated will be of great assistance in academic, personal and professional life due to the high quality speakers and environment.
The Company
Despite having a short time the insight programme was efficiently and well structured between the two days. The content was always engaging and the staff ensured we were fully aware of what was happening, when it was happening and where it was happening. A sufficient amount of food breaks were not only useful to take a breather but we're fantastic opportunities to network with fellow attendees and EY employees.
From the moment you walk in, the environment at the EY spring insight is very calming, charming and friendly. The staff were extremely gracious in helping attendees with all their queries while speakers were keen to stress that there was an open dialogue where attendees were not only allowed to but encouraged to challenge their views.
Despite the short time frame of the programme EY ensured that each attendee was gaining the most out of it that they could. EY emphasised on ensuring that there was a safe space where there could be no stupid questions or wrong answers rather they focused on trying to equip us with the most useful skills and even helped identify our own strengths.
We got a clear idea of what time at EY would be like through the spring insight programme. We had several different speakers over the course of 2 days to tell us about the environment they work in both professionally and socially while explaining their wide variety of streams through which they entered EY.
Through a wide variety of speakers from the many different sectors of EY we got a clear idea of what EY stands for and what it's vision is for its own future as well as the future of its clients and society as a whole as depicted with their vision 2020 scheme.
There was a wide range of content provided to us despite the short time span of the programme. The variety of speakers ensured the content was not repetitive and we spoke to people from a variety of different parts of the business. In addition there were sufficient resources provided to us to ensure content could be accessed even though the programme had ended
Everything Else
Sufficiently reimbursed my train journey and even offered to cover my accommodation if necessary.
The EY spring insight programme is a fantastic opportunity to network with employees from a wide range of backgrounds and job fields. In addition there was also the opportunity to network with fellow attendees from around the country. These networking opuurtunities were vital in building up contacts within and outside the firm which will be useful in many future endeavours.
There were several networking opportunities at the programme with big attendees and employees. In addition there was even a social event at a local mini golf course allowing us to spend time with and ask questions to current EY employees in a relaxed and informal setting which was both enjoyable and insightful.
The company stresses an effective work life balance providing employees to be involved in a wide range of activities and interests. This includes societies within the company including cooking and sports. Furthermore the firm not only allows but encourages employees to take one off to do charity work showing its commitment to a better society.
I would definitely recommend the programme to a friend interested in the field.
