The Role
I really enjoyed it, the work was so varried. One minute I was working on renewable energy projects in the Highland and the next I was looking at Residential developments in the South East.
Was introduced to everyone on my first day and I instantly welcomed into the team. Felt like my work made a real difference to work that was done. It was a really good feeling pointing out when a colleague was citing the wrong regulations.
I was provided feedback on all my work and given ways of improving
Normally just right. Had a constant stream of work to do.
I was asked to write detailed reports that were likely to shape the form of development from day one. Obviously everything was double checked to make sure I was right.
I've now been taken on as a full time member of staff so I'm using those skills on a daily basis.
The Company
We had alot of work on so everyone was getting on with there own work, but there was aways time for a chat.
Very well. I was given my own desk and my computer systems where all set up and ready for me on my first day.
I was given a quick demo on the systems but then left to it. If I ever found I was stuck on anything I'd just ask.
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
I'm now working for them full time.
The Culture
I was the only placement student in my office, I would go down the pub with the others on a friday lunchtime though
About average. Pint would cost £3.20
Didn't go out at night. I was commuting from home so had an hour and a half drive each way.
There were a few opportunities but I was having to commute an hour and a half to work so I usually went striaght home
