About You
Much of the info given on the first day could have been found on the website. Also the descriptions of the different divions and sub divisions were quite confusing. The first day was mostly "lecturing"- the second day was much better as there were more activities and challenges, as well as an insightful panel discussion.
I felt as though the firm wanted me to work there, and was making an effort to give me useful information about the company. It would have been nice to do more hands on activities however (that mimic the sort of things that an ACP grad programme employee might do), and to have the event staged in the central office rather than at ETC venues.
Guidance on next steps was good. However, guidance + acquiring knowledge on what a Summer intern might do and what their responsibilities are were not as well covered.
Most of the event was spent gaining information about EY rather than acquiring skills. Potentially some networking skill benefits.
The Company
Well structured agenda that was strictly kept to throughout the programme.
Good relaxed atmosphere amongst participants, however things fell a little flat on the first day particularly after having several hours of 'lecture style' seminars.
Very little investment at this stage in terms of skills, but gave knowledge on how to succeed at the assessment centre.
Limited insight on the day to day responsibilities of an ACP employee.
The warm culture came across well.
Didn't necessarily add to my perception of EY
Everything Else
No reimbursement requested
Some opportunities for networking with current employees at a social event in the evening and throughout the days.
Relatively open. However more time could be dedicated to this specifically during the days.
Brief mentioning of work socials.
Yes, useful as a step for Summer Intern programme, but not particularly insightful as a standalone programme.
