    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I appreciated the insight week a lot. The aspect I enjoyed the most is the opportunity to, simultaneously, learn about the bank, the divisions and the industry, while being involved through the different activities and interacting with experienced people during the networking sessions. I recommend to everyone to apply to an insight, especially at Deutsche Bank.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • The people are really nice and dedicated to their work. They are always listening to you, if you have questions they are always here to answer you. If you have a problem or anything else, they will try to find a solution. Therefore, you feel valued and part of the team from day 1, as they are doing everything for you to feel comfortable and at ease.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The guidance and support I received during my spring week were both important and helpful. All the advice and information given were useful and concrete, which is exactly what I was looking for as a springer. All the teams are giving you a valuable knowledge and share their experiences and career path, which help us in our choices.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • There are several ways to develop skills during a spring week, whether it is during the presentations, the games or the networking sessions. All these opportunities help me to enhance my listening skills, my team working skills and communication skills, which are exactly the skills we need to work efficiently in investment banking and also the skills that are important for my studies, as I am studying finance.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was well structured. The schedule was indeed logical, as we began with broad overview and then went in further details progressively, which enables to understand all the characteristics of the firm, the division and the industry. I especially think that choosing the division after the work shadowing is highly relevant, as we have a better idea of what it is to work in this specific division.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere is so enjoyable. All the people I have met during my insight were so happy to be here. Most importantly is how passionate and dedicated they are to their work. I am looking forward to work in a such environment to take part in their work and make a positive impact within the firm.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development, I think Deutsche has considerably invested in me and in every other springers. A lot of employees from every division were indeed involved during this week, which required time and organisation. Furthermore, they were always here for us, to answer our questions, to help us, which highlights that they want to know us better and involve us in their work.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had various opportunities to understand what it would be like to have a full time role at Deutsche Bank. During the networking sessions, we answered questions directly to the VP or MD, which was extremely helpful. Moreover, the shadowing was for me the best way to understand the tasks and work on a daily basis.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • During the week, we had several presentation and activities about the company culture, which helped me to deeply understand them and see how it is concretely applied. Furthermore, talking with Deutsche Bank's representative has enhanced my understanding of the culture, since they gave me concrete examples of the company culture and how the work through the Deutsche Bank's values.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content of the presentations has not exactly helped me to decide on my future career path, but it has confirmed my willingness to join the Corporate Finance division. I was not 100 % sure about it, but after the presentations and the shadowing I was sure about my choice.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I am living in France and the insight week was in London. Hopefully, the travel and accommodation expenses were reimbursed, otherwise I do not know if I could have afforded it, I have indeed a study grant. Thus, Deutsche Bank promotes diversity and invest on us. I am really thankful about it.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • During the week, I had numerous opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company. - During and after the presentations, especially with the Q&A - During the networking sessions - During the shadowing I was directly in contact with them and their work - I even sent emails to employees to ask them further questions

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking/ social event opportunities were great, and I had the opportunity to ask questions and speak with several persons, which was really enriching and helpful for me. However, I think that it would have been better if more analyst or associates were present during the networking event, so that we can have different point of view.

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, I did. When I was talking with one of the employee, he told me that they went to Austria with all the team; I also know that employees play sport together and that employees can participate in a charity every year. All these activities are, I believe, really important in order to build a deep relationship and a strong team spirit with the people we are working with.

The aspect I enjoyed the most is the opportunity to, simultaneously, learn about the bank, the divisions and the industry, while being involved through the different activities and interacting with experienced people during the networking sessions.
