About You
I very much enjoyed my 2 weeks on the vacation scheme at Clifford Chance. This was an amazing opportunity to get a feel for the culture at the firm, as well as the work that trainees complete on a day to day basis. The project work was very interesting and there was a great mix of office work and social activities, making the Vac Scheme extremely enjoyable.
I felt very valued throughout my time at Clifford Chance. Employees were extremely welcoming and I was treated as a valued member of the team. Trainees, associates and senior partners gave up their valuable time to talk to us and the graduate recruitment team did everything they could to make us feel welcomed and comfortable.
There was a great support system throughout the vacation scheme at Clifford Chance. We were guided impeccably through the entire programme, from the introductory session to the drinks party on the final evening. Employees were more than happy to answer all our questions and provide valuable career guidance, which I found to be particularly beneficial.
This vacation scheme helped me to develop skills and learn new knowledge, which included learning how to draft legal documents and create presentations to brief the team. The research skills that I developed will be beneficial for my degree and the specific knowledge developed about commercial law will undoubtedly benefit me with my final year modules.
The Company
I cannot fault the structure or organisation of this programme, as it was seamless. We had a great introductory breakfast to ease us into the firm and the 2 week vacation scheme consisted of a good balance of office work and social activities. We had exposure to a variety of people in the firm, ranging from junior associates to senior partners.
The general atmosphere on this vacation scheme was great and there is such an engaging and open environment at Clifford Chance! Everybody that I met was very welcoming and took the time to get to know us, providing us with extremely valuable career guidance. The atmosphere on the vac scheme was a great reflection of the firm and indicative of the company’s ethos and values.
Clifford Chance invested a great deal into each and every one of us throughout the two weeks vacation scheme. The scheme focused on activities which enabled us to develop the skills needed to succeed in this sector. The social and networking events were also indicative of the amount of time and money the firm had invested in ensuring we got the most out of this scheme.
This scheme is a great way to gain a true understanding of what it is like to have a full time role at the firm. We had the opportunity to meet employees at all levels of the firm, with the chance to ask them questions about their roles and what the work/life balance is like.
This vacation scheme was a great way to find out more about the culture at the firm. We had a number of presentations on the culture, with a focus on the values and ethos at Clifford Chance. The firm was also keen to highlight its diverse and inclusive working culture, which is very international in nature.
The content of the vacation scheme was very beneficial as all of the sessions, workshop and activities were designed to demonstrate what a career in commercial law involves. On this scheme, I realised that my interests and skills are aligned to a career in commercial law and has thus solidified my decision to pursue a career in this sector.
Everything Else
I was paid more than adequately for my time spend at the firm.
There were plenty of networking opportunities on this vacation scheme! We had the opportunity to speak with junior associates and trainees, as well as senior and managing partners. Networking events ranged from breakfast sessions to formal dinners, where we could ask questions and get to know the employees at the firm!
Really great networking and social events througout the vacation scheme!
Yes, I found about various activities employees can get involved in.
I would 100% recommend this insight programme to a friend!
