    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Good insight into the proffesional career and an experience I am glad i took. Some of the work was boring at times but the whole projects were really interesting.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Everybody is polite and happy to help. I also joined as a group and we are good freinds. Nobody is undervalued.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Support was good but preliminary guidance was average. I had to find alot out on my own. However once i had made contacts it was very easy to get help or find answers no matter how stupid the question seemed.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • In Busy season there was always something to do but when unassigned i struggled to find work on occassion. On the other hand this gave me loads of time to do trainig courses and improve my skills

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility varied from client to client but i could always consult with my incharge so it was never overwhelming. I was trusted with some serious work though

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Learned really valuable skills but quite specific great if i return to accounting. If I move on they may not be quite as tailored but worth having none the less.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The environment is a serious and professional office but laughing isnt frowned upon!

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The training and set up were very good but some of the weeks were slow. The programme could do with some more strict guidlines and procedures. Ocasionally i had to explain where i lay in the business plan to some of the managers because they had never heard of my placement.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There is alot of online training available but no formal qualifications can be obtained out of my placement.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I havent yet heard anything but the oppurtunity to rejoin the firm is astrong possibility. I was not contracted so if i change my mind i can choose not to apply for the job. If i do apply for a full time job i will be able to pass some of the interview stages straight away.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • We all got along really well as a group of joiners and the social scene in the department is very strong. I met alot of people i wouldn have otherwise met and it openend up some possibilities for me

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home during the placement so any moneyt i earned was really pocket money so it was quite nice.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Quite good but very expensive!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not really other than the social activities.

    3/5
