The Role
Everyone at the company was really welcoming and I was given a large variety of different assignments during my placement
At times I actually felt that I had contributed to a project and that made me feel valued
Whenever I needed assistance with something my manager was there to help me
I was fairly busy, and with it being the low season there were not always jobs to be done but it was very easy to go and ask people if they needed assistance and more often than not they were very helpful in finding something for me to do
I actively took part in projects and was given entrusted with completing tasks that contributed to the overall project
My presentation skills increased massively during the placement, just from witnessing many presentations whilst there and also taking part in a few myself. I think also that my business etiquette has been greatly improved
The Company
Everyone was really friendly and approachable in the office, regardless of their grade
The whole placement was very well set up for me, and each of my departments had planned what I would be doing very well
Considering that I was only on a 7 week placement I think that the company invested a relatively large amount of time and money into training and personal development. We spent a week at the start of the placement on training and this was really useful for later on, not just in terms of training but also getting to know other people on the placement
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
There's a lot of scope within the organisation and I think that you can pretty much get you want out of the opportunities there
The Culture
A lot of my fellow interns and I spent many evenings each week doing acitivites together like going to the gym, cinema or pub. There was a really good atmosphere on the scheme
Obviously living in London is expensive, but the scheme was well paid and this meant that you could afford to go and do things
It's London
The company has many social and sports clubs, and this offered a massive variety to choose from. Add these to the departmental events and there's plenty for someone to do in the company
