About You
The exprience is great and really insightful. I have really learned a lot from the daily work shadowing, about both the financial sector as a whole and the Citigroup. People in my team are really friendly and helpful. I have explored the sector I am interested in and really enjoy the insight week in Citi.
I feel I am valued by Citi and by my team. There are many networking events hosted by Citi and insightful talks from Citi employees. These sessions organized are very informative and insightful. People in my team are very helpful. They are willing to take the time to tell me what their jobs are and patiently answer my questions. They have really taught me a lot.
I have received a lot of support from the fellow interns, recuiters and people in my team. We always share our experience among fellow interns and give each other our geinue advice. Recuiters are very helpful. They help us sort out all kinds of administrative matters to make sure we can fit into the environment. People in my team have taught me a lot of things.
I have learnt a lot about coding in python which will really helps me with doing my python courseworks in school. Methodologies related to analyzing data really helps me with my modules of statistics. I have also had a deeper understanding of the application of mathematics in real life problems, especially in the financial sector.
The Company
The workshadowing part of the programme is really great. It enables to apply what we have learnt in school to help out in solving real life problems. And it enables me to have a better understanding of how trading works, especially oil and power trading. However, I think the programme could be better structured if we have some talks on what different divisions are about before choosing the one to have the workshadowing.
I think the general atmosphere of the programme is great. There is a good balance of networking and workshadowing. This enables us to talk to more junior and senior employees and participate in the working environment at the same time. People around us are helpful and supportive. We can always get help from others if we need it.
I think the company is gathering its best resources to make sure that we can have the best experience here and we can gain as much information as we can. We are put into different teams to participate in the working environment and networking sessions are informative. I think I have improved holistically in terms of both skills and knowledge.
The work shadowing enables to take part in the actual working environment and I can observe how people are doing their jobs and learn about what their jobs are. And I have also experience the actual working pace on the trading floor and leart a lot how people trade and how people in different roles cooperate with each other.
I have gained a better understanding of the culture of the company through networking sessions, talks conducted and the workshadowing. I have talked to people from different positions and divisions about their opinions on how do they find the company. The talks conducted introduce to us the aspects we cannot experience right now as an intern.
The programme allows me to experience the divisions that I am interested in and find more about the division to have a better idea about the division and what to expect if I join as a full time employee. Talking to people from different divisions enables me to explore more opportunities in the company and find about what I really want to do in the future.
Everything Else
There are plenty opportunities to talk with people in the company. We are assigned a spring internship buddy who can give us some information about the company before the programme starts. There are senior and junior networking sessions organized. They are from different divisions of the company. I can also talk to different people on the trading floor.
