Technology Spring Intern Review

The insight has been a great opportunity for me to understand more about tech in the finance industry. Coming from a physics background makes it a daunting prospect, however this placement has left me excited to learn more. A mixture of talks, hands on work and meeting amazing new people have made the experience very enjoyable

Over the course of this insight, I have gained a much deeper insight into the way technology works in a bank and the different opportunities available. Through group project work and discussion with peers I have learned a lot about the industry, and whilst not directly relevant to my degree, this will help me make a much more informed decision about my future

The insight had a very clear structure laid out from the start, and a clear progression throughout the week. There were many higher figures within the company that came to talk and network with us, who were very happy to do so. The use of an app to see the agenda and other attendees was also very good

There were several specific networking opportunities over the week, including small group chats with employees from a range of positions, many opportunities to talk to graduates, and a large networking event to learn more about the company from people with high positions within the company. Alongside this, meeting new people with a like-minded career focus was invaluable
