About You
Loved Loved Loved it! The working environment was great, good buzz created by the employees, you can tell everyone loves the company and their jobs which makes you more passionate My team in CPD were so friendly and welcoming, and made me feel part of the team right away.
The team were so welcoming and made sure I settled in quickly, by giving me tasks to do straight away and talking to me as an equal rather than just an intern. My team helped me in any way they could and were so friendly.
My manager gave me help at every point no matter what tasks he had to do, everyone in the team was helping me throughout the week when I asked for help otherwise assumed I was capable, which made me feel like they had confidence in my ability.
Great training sessions set up throughout the week, not sure I know any other company that do any training sessions for insight weeks or interns. DISC training was helpful for teaching you about yourself and how to approach other people. Excel, powerpoint and prezi were great and skills I can take back to university and use.
The Company
Well structured with tasks given to me straight away. My manager included me in meetings and worked with me in the tasks I was doing, he constantly pushed me to do more challenging things (nice to be trusted with the responsibility). Training sessions throughout the week to develop skills as well which was a nice touch. Social night at the start was a good way to get to know everyone and very nice of L'Oreal to organise.
Great buzz around the office, everyone is really passionate about what they do and you can tell that. Everyone is willing to help and talk to the interns which is nice that you're not seen as inferior. Great buzz around creating and recruiting new talent - L'Oreal babies.
Training sessions were given throughout the week to ensure insight students developed as much as possible throughout the week and therefore get the most out of the experience. These skills are necessary for the day to day business at L'Oreal and helpful for Univeristy presentations and general skills.
I 100% want to be a part of L'Oreal in the future, it has solidified my love for the company and the fact I would like to work here in the future. From the buzz created by employees to the care and love for the products and seeing the company do well I want to be a part of it.
Company Culture was highlighted throughout the week - from reusable cups in the canteen (highlighting the environmentally friendly nature of the business). To the care taken over the products and how much the employees love the marketing, branding etc of each of the products being developed and on the market.
I was in commercial for this week and loved it, but due to the short nature of this programme it was difficult to know whether you would want to work in any other section of the business other than talking to people. However the graduate scheme works on a rotational basis therefore you can see if you would rather work in another department.
Everything Else
All travel expenses once in London (zones 1-6) were covered as well as all food and drink expenses during the day at L'Oreal were covered. No expenses covered for actually getting into London in the first place which is a bit of a shame for those who live far away from London in the first place. No accommodation given/ expenses reimbursed for those who didn't have someone to stay with.
Opportunities to network were available on request. Employees and were more than happy to introduce you to other members in your team, just have the confidence to ask.
Social event on Monday for the interns all together was a nice touch to make you feel involved straight away. Other than that social events were up to your organisation.
Told about the opportunities when you're on the graduate scheme and an actual employee at L'Oreal. Not many for this week for the insight students but the short nature of the week does make this difficult.
YES! I don't want to leave
