    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was really good. I had so much fun meeting new people and making new friends. It was very insightful and so informative. The two days were planned out really well with enough breaks and opportunities to ask questions. Everyone was so friendly and nice and we're happy to help with any queries.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued. Like I said before, all the EY staff were amazing and so friendly. We had networking events which allowed us all to ask as many questions as possible. There was no limit to any questions and they were so honest with answers and told us what life is really like working for EY.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • It doesn't really apply as such, by they were very supportive with the weeks preceding to the event, we received detailed emails which told us all the information about how to get there, what to wear and what activities we will be doing during the day. Everyone was very helpful.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The information we got told was beyond my expectations. I learnt so much more about the actual divisions in EY, and what each division does and the roles within them as well. The case studies and mock assessment centre were fantastic because it allows you to understand what EY want to hear from you and what they want from us in the assessment centres.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was structured so well. We all knew where we would be at what time. Every activity had a purpose and it was all so interesting. You can tell a lot of hard work was put into creating the two days and they pulled it off very well. I'm very glad I got the opportunity to attend the insight day because I can leave feeling, not only more confident about my strengths and abilities, but happy about how much I got from attending

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was very fun. The social was my favourite part because it allowed all of us to have a break and have a good time, as well as getting to know other people who attended the event. All the other activities were more helpful in terms of developing your knowledge and career, but equally as fun.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We all had to go through steps to get into the insight day, the online application, the online tests and the telephone interview. They made us all feel welcome and special that we made it to the insight day because getting in was tough as there are 1000s of applications sent in.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I got exactly what I wanted out of this insight day and more because I got so much information from the people who work at EY, and they were all honest about how much they work, and how much free time they and how much support they get during working hours. They were all so friendly and lovely to talk to.

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • You always hear about companies being amazing and nice to people who work there, but I feel that EY is 100% the best company to work for because everyone is nice and friendly, they all seem to get on with coworkers and managers. There is a huge support system put into place for anyone who works there which is amazing and so thoughtful.

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I got so much information about all the divisions of EY and I came not knowing much about it and unsure on what path I wanted to take, but having the networking sessions with people from every division they had was very helpful. They told us about their day to day tasks and responsibilities as well as if they work extra time, and how flexible they can be with their work.

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • If you live far away from the destination of your EY insight, they will not only pay for your journey expenses but also will pay for an overnight stay at a hotel, which was very nice.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There was a networking session which was a bit intense and we spent 5 mins asking questions to the people in each division. The room was quite packed and it was little confusing on what station to move round to after you've finished at one, and because it was a full room it was quite loud and a bit difficult to hear. Other than that it was a really good idea and very informative.

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We had a social at a bowling alley, which was really fun because we had the opportunity to meet other people that we hadn't met yet, and we were put into different groups, which was a good idea. It was such a great time because after a day of learning and being inquisitive, it was nice to wind down and have some fun.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • This was a women in business event and it was nice to find out that EY have a women's network that people who work there can volunteer for. EY hold many socials for everyone, which I think is a very good selling point for them because it allows everyone to not think about work and just have some fun.

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely, especially if you don't know what division or company to apply for an internship or graduate role for. It was so informative and everyone was very friendly and nice. I've made some lovely new friends as well!
