About You
I really enjoyed the insight programme as it gave me genuine insight into EY as a company and the opportunities offered to undergraduates and graduates. I learnt about the culture of EY and the impersonal style within the company and the company perks and flexibility within the company which is valued by all staff
At the insight programme at EY I felt very valued as a ‘woman in business’ during the discover programme. The company show a real insight into how they care for minorities and how everybody is welcome as long as you have the right skills and abilities. They care for every individual
The programme was well supported with multiple members of staff guiding us through the days. Our table guides provided us deep insight and impersonal conversations about the life at EY which meant I could learn a lot in a short period of time, the staff engaged with us and we got to know everybody well
I learnt a lot about EY as a company, the opportunities they offer and the skills that are needed to succeed which can help me in finding an internship or graduate scheme. Additionally, teamworking and presenting during the days meant I practised many skills such as communication and networking with others at the speed networking event
The Company
The days were very well planned out and everything flowed very pleasantly. Everybody was aware what was going on and what was going to happen next, we managed a squeeze a lot of experience and insight into just two days and this has helped me to make future career decisions and internship/placement year choices
The atmosphere at the insight programme was very pleasant and welcoming. Everybody was keen to get to know eachother and the staff and helpers were easily approachable which meant I didn’t hold back with asking questions or gaining in depth information if I was curious about anything, this meant I gained a lot by attending the programme
There wasn’t much personal training and development however I did feel valued by the company. All expenses were paid for and they did invest a lot into us attending. I feel like I was given the opportunity to develop myself as an individual and I was supported to do this therefore it was good
I was given a lot of insight and preparation into the roles within the company and the service lines and how they differentiate. The networking event allowed me to speak to graduates and their experiences off full time roles which I felt was genuine and very helpful of them to give us feedback
EY are very passionate about expressing the friendly and person culture that they have, I have heard of this before on their website but attending the programme meant I saw it in practise and therefore I believed what I had heard. Actions speak louder than words and I saw this in action
The content of the day was very beneficial in deciding a future career path, there are so many different segments you can go into at EY therefore it was refreshing to speak to people and have them explain it to me wth passion rather than reading it from a Website and still not knowing which one is for me
Everything Else
The event was all expenses included which meant I travelled to London for free and also had Accomodation at the Hilton hotel, including breakfast and a very fancy lunch everyday. We also attended a social event which was paid for and very fun, food was also included in the event
We had a table host which was very nice and friendly, it meant I could easily approach her and I have also gained many people’s names and numbers through networking events which means that I can easily approach them in the future with any queries and questions and they will be happy to help
A networking event was hosted for us which included 12 tables with members of the team at each from a different sector. Speaking to these different individuals meant I could gain genuine insight into the different job roles and have experience of what it would be like working in that sector
We have been told about clubs such as the women’s network which aims to inspire women and get them involved, you can also volunteer to get involved and support events and programmes. There are many sports clubs and social events to get in involved in which support the social side of the organisation
I had a lot of fun at the event and thought I meant some very valuable professionals and people. I also gained a lot of insight into the roles and opportunities within EY that area as clear online, therefore I would reccomend this programme to my friends who are interested in professional services
