About You
This insight gave me a good understanding of the different roles EY could offer for me. It inspired me to realise that I can shape my career and that EY can offer me the support and flexibility required to excel in the career sector that I chose to go into. The staff were helpful and friendly and made sure we got the most out of the experience.
I felt like the staff members running the event really wanted to inspire us and put lots of effort into making every one of us feel included and inspired by the event. I felt like they really wanted to encourage us to apply to work for EY and did their best to convey the inclusive atmosphere of the firm.
All the staff were really helpful and willing to answer any questions that we had and go above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of the event. I really liked that each table was allocated a table host in order to guide them and help them with the activities.
I feel like this event has really inspired me to carefully consider my next steps with my degree. It also showed me that I can tailor my career to suit me and that I don’t have to try and conform to a mould and change myself to try and fit a role. It showed me that EY values individuals and has hence inspired me to be the best I can be. The information recieved has really helped me to think about my next steps.
The Company
The insight was very well structured with a clear timetable for each day. Regular breaks insured that we could remain well focused and there was a good mix between interactive activities and listening. I liked that the programme was varied and offered a large range of activities and information to us.
The atmosphere was really positive. We were all encouraged to participate and everyone was really relaxed and accepting of everyone’s views. I liked that there was many graduate students there who were close to our own age and hence gave us a good and honest insight as to what it was like to work for the firm.
The mock assessment centre was really useful and we were given useful feedback as to how we could improve and what we did well. I feel the experience has also made me feel more confident and more equipped to attend an assessment centre. I think I also developed as a team member and I enjoyed the group exercises.
The speed networking event really gave us a good insight into the different business areas and allowed us to speak to people doing different jobs and get a real idea as to what a job in that area consisted of. Talking to the graduates and learning about the graduate roles was really useful, it was really good to speak to people who were new to the firm and had recently gone through the process we are now embarking on.
I really got a good insight into EY as a firm and I could see how passionate all the members of staff were about the company. I was shocked by how inclusive the firm was and how much they really care about their workers. The atmosphere was friendly and upbeat and the teams seem really strong.
The experience has given me a really good idea as to different areas I now want to research further and explore. I now feel inspired to research the different career sectors within EY and I hope to embark upon a summer internship with them next year. Above all it was really helpful to see the energy of the staff and how happy they were with their jobs.
Everything Else
The accommodation offered was amazing and the company looked after us very well. They were very well accommodating and any needs were met and I would deffinitely recommend the whole experience to anyone thinking of attending the event. The main payment was the experience itself and the information that I gained from it.
There was lots of opportunities to network and meet employees. The speed networking event was an invaluable experience because I got to ask the questions I really wanted to ask and I was introduced to so many different roles I didn’t know existed. All the staff members were really honest and wanted to help us get a good idea as to what their role entailed.
The social on the first night was a great opportunity to get to know others on the course and wind down after a busy day. I think this was a really nice touch as it gave a good insight into the way that EY also values social relationships and looks after it’s people.
We got the opportunity to talk to people involved in the women’s society at EY and they recommend the different societies that EY has to offer. I think these societies really reflect the inclusive nature of the firm that really shone over the two days. All the staff members also spoke highly of the social relationships they have built and how much they enjoy working with their teams.
I would definitely recommend the experience. I feel that it has given me a great insight into the firm and shown me that EY really values it’s people and it’s teams. I feel that I got a clearer idea about the different business sectors and I feel inspired to research these further. I also feel more confident about the recruitment process now.
