About You
I came onto this course with very limited knowledge about the different areas of EY. But I left feeling like I finally understand all the different service lines and has helped me decide what I would like to do in the future which has been a great help and I would really recommend the course.
Everyone was split into groups of about 8, then each group had a leader from the firm so you always had someone helping you out and there to answer questions which was really helpful. All the activities got everyone involved and the group working together creating a great atmosphere to network.
There were leaders for the programme always wondering around the room ready to answer questions. We got sent out many emails leading up to the programme with information pamphlets and directions. Whenever I sent an email with a question they were very quick to respond and helpful with their answers.
The course has definitely helped me with what I want to do in the future and how I can go about securing this. The programme gave me an insight into the many different areas you can work in for EY and we were able to network with colleagues working in all the different areas to ask questions.
The Company
In the lead up to the course we got emailed a plan for what was happening detailing what was involved each day and the timings of each. The day began with an introduction from the leaders where they talked us through what has happening. There were regular breaks and food provided.
Everyone was very friendly, including the staff and people attending the course. Feel I have made life long connections through the helpful networking session. The course was at the Hilton hotel in London next to the EY office. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful providing a great service.
EY spent lots of money on the course providing everyone with what they needed to make sure they could attend the course and have an enjoyable time. I felt well invested in and like I was of great value to the firm. They have showed me how I can continue my career at EY which I am very grateful for.
Getting to speak to staff who had gone through the same programme and then through the internship and then graduate scheme has helped me see what I could do to achieve a full time role at the company. The staff here where very accommodating to all questions about work life balance.
I have learnt all the things I heard about EY such as it being a friendly culture, with a very diverse atmosphere is true. We had talks from people who worked all over the company in different areas I hadn’t heard of before and they all showed the same message that the culture here was very friendly.
The course revolves around teaching you about EY. It has given me a very helpful insight into all the different areas I can go into and how I can get there. It has taught me about the different service lines, it is just down to me to decide where I want to go now!
Everything Else
The course was not paid, but EY paid all travel expenses, even for people to fly over from other countries! They also paid for hotels for people to stay in if you travelled from over 1 and half hours away. They also provided breakfast lunch and constant snacks. Very spoilt.
Yes on the first day it finished with a speed networking session over at the EY office where you met many colleagues who worked in all different areas of EY. Then the day finished with a social at a bowling alley where you could connect with all the other participants on the course.
There was networking opportunities throughout the course. Participants and staff were happy to add you on linked in and give you emails to keep in contact. There was a social after the first day from 5:30-8:30 where we went bowling and got to socialise with everyone on the course and get to know each other.
Staff mainly talked about what opportunities they got to do within the work not outside work, such as secondments into different areas of the firm they don’t usually work in. We also heard about diversity programmes you can get involved in. It would have been nice to hear about activities outside of work.
Yes absolutely, I have learnt lots and come away feeling very accomplished. Especially as the course didn’t cost you anything, EY provided everything you could need and helped out with everything you could. I am very glad I got the opportunity to come on this course and would definitely tell other people to do the same thing.
