About You
The two day Discover EY insight was very enjoyable. It was fun to mix with so many peers and get so much 1 to 1 time with professionals to ask anything and everything. The talks given were very insightful in giving a realistic view of the culture at EY. I enjoyed it very much.
Everyone who I spoke to communicated with me very well, all of the staff we able to speak on a personal level regarding personal experiences which was great to see. No one made me feel like I was less than and even though my questions were not always smart, they did not make me feel as such.
There were lots of helpers on hand who were eager to get involved. This meant any question was answered well within seconds and as there were so many helpers around they all had plenty of time with us. All the time spent made me feel very valued and that EY was genuinely interested.
The skills were mainly soft skills which are very transferable in any career path I pursue. I now feel that I have skills that can carry me into many interviews and give me skills that I would not have acquired otherwise. I look forward to practicing them at a later date.
The Company
Everything flowed well. There was no confusion. Clear itinerary meant no confusion and everyone knew what was coming and when. The clear structure meant the two days were able to be packed with lots of helpful information which really made great use of our time here at EY London Hilton.
Everyone was happy, engaged, present and polite which made for a great atmosphere to work and meet people in. The good atmosphere made it easy to ask questions and communicate with everyone. It was also really good to see how the staff commuincate withe achother as this gave a real insight.
By paying for the accomdation and hotel and by having so many staff it was clear that EY had set aside many resources and funds for this programme over the two days. This made me feel really valued and made the whole experience feel special and accomodating which was lovely.
The panel session as great to understand what real life would look like at EY on a day to day basis because they had staff there from all different levels of the business. This meant we could get an insight into the activities and lifestyles of all staff at all levels.
This insight really revealed the company culture in so many ways to me. Firstly there was the obvious things that the EY staff tell you about the culture but to also see the staff working, interactong with eachother and moving around really gave an insight into how the culture enties with everything.
The info provided was really helpfil in finding a future career path as there was lots of informatoon given about all of the different service lines in EY amd what roles within these departments would entail which really helped clarify the inner workings of such a large firm such as EY.
Everything Else
It was great to have everything paid for because it meant people from any background could attend the programme which is great as it promotes inclusitiy and diversifixation within the bisiness which really reflects the values that EY hold close to their heart and makes everyone feel valued which is great.
There was a speed networling session at the end of the first day where we wemt around in small grlups talking staff in all different roles within EY. It was greta to be able to make these personal connections and develop our own communication skills in such a professional environment.
The event was so much fun and the fact is was paid for was even better. The event gave opportunity to socialise and talk with peers which gave a great opportunity to get to know them which helped to create the massively friendly atmosphere which is cleaely wjat EY try to do.
Yes many of the younger employees mentioned out of work opportunities which such as different sports like football which really interested me as it would be great to keep a personal hobbie incorporated in my work life. There were also many staff social events mentioned which soinded like lots of fun.
Yes, it was so great and so insightful I would recommend it to anyone fortunate enough to find themselves in such a great position. I feel like EY made greta use of the time we had here and it was such a greta experience and definately worth comimg to today.
