About You
This was a very enjoyable experience, where I was able to find out more about the different service lines in EY. It was a very professional but at the same time fun atmosphere to be in. Both days were different and we were given key tips on how to progress in our career paths
EY’s tagline ‘building a better working world’ really shone at this event, in particular the social aspect. Although I was amongst many other undergraduates I felt like my contributions were valued. This is extremely important to help boost confidence to people in my situation, who are unsure of a definite final career, and still need guidance.
I received lots of help from the EY employees and recruitment team. They were always open for giving suggestions. Everyone was happy to go into details of what they did, and highlighted the key skills that are necessary for that job. I was extremely impressed! What EY says it does.... it does, and my expectations were exceeded.
To a huge extent. Firstly, my group was chosen to perform our presentation in front of the whole cohort. Initially I was terrified but afterwards I feel so happy that I was chosen to do so. It has given me confidence to speak in front of many people and I was given tips on how to present in a constructive and not demeaning way.
The Company
The timing was very good and well outlined. I was very content with the different aspects of the event and things were coherent. There was a mixture of cohort work and small groups work which allowed us to focus on building intimate relationships as well as more vague ones with the wider cohort.
The atmosphere was welcoming, as soon as I arrived I was greeted with a smile and this didn’t stop until I left the event. The employees were in extremely enthusiastic and I could really see the culture of EY shining out. It was a such a reat atmosphere to be in.
Although there were many of students on the course, I felt as though this course was tailored for each individual. We were given specific tips and hints that recruiters want to see in their potential employees. This gives me more confidence on how I can excel in the future in my career.
Although each role is different I could understand that a good work ethic and personal motivation is needed. However the insight helped me to understand that I would be given so much support from other members of the firm, so I would not be alone if I was to work for EY . This makes me want to have a full time job with them!
Before I came, I was vaguely sure on what exactly EY does and I wanted to find out more from the different employees. On this insight I did just that. At the speed networking session, I was able to ask my specific questions to an employee in the different business lines of EY’s service, thus enhancing the different possible options I am considering to go into after university.
This was the most valuable element, for me, of this insight event. It opened up my eyes to the range of possibilities EY offered: it wasn’t just tax and assurance! I would recommend events like this, especially at EY to students who feel like they don’t know enough about the options they have, after they graduate from university.
Everything Else
I did not use the hotel as commute was very short. However for those that did, I heard that amazing quality was served, by staying at a Hilton hotel! This is amazing as it shows the lengths EY is prepared to invest into its potential future employees, and gives a good first impression.
Yes! I was able to add all the speakers on LinkedIn and thank them for their insight. The employees were open to answer any further questions and has a welcoming atmosphere. I felt comfortable speaking and networking with them and they were every enthusiastic for the sector of the firm that they represented.
These were great. I was able to speak with people from all over the business, some in business lines that I had never even heard of let alone considered. This was extremely insightful and their attitudes to supporting and guiding people like me was phenomenal.
Yes! There is so much to life outside work. As well as the socials, they have various sports groups and initiatives such as charities for inequality and diversity. These are amazing as it allows people from all parts of the business to interact and connect in a social atmosphere.
