About You
I really enjoyed the insight days. The programme took place over two days and had a particular focus on Assurance and Tax, areas that I previously had no knowledge of. The speakers who worked in these sectors spoke really well about their experiences and it was fantastic to meet other like minded students
EY were incredibly welcoming and really encouraged us to be ourselves. They emphasised that EY wants it’s employees to bring their personality to work. This is particularly evident in their use of strengths based recruitment and because they outlined to us how this works, and the exercises we did around it, I felt very comfortable being myself
I gained so much insight into the different service lines in EY. While there was a focus on Assurance and Tax we also had the chance to speak to people who worked in the other service lines. The speed networking session gave me the chance to ask people about their first hand experiences
I have developed he skills to think in a more commercial mindset and in a more analytical way. I also have understood how to apply the skills I have in my anthropology degree to a business context. I learn a lot about the assessment centre process and how to excel in this too
The Company
There was an excellent and very clear structure to all the days that began with a brief intro to each service line. This then was expanded upon by the individual speakers and the panellists. There was also the chance to gain more informal insights by speaking to the graduates who were present
Everyone from EY away incredibly warm and positive. They were very happy to answer any questions and so created a really wonderful and welcoming atmosphere. I think this is part of EY’s philosophy: that they invest in the people that work for them. Knowing this made me feel very comfortable
I think they focused more on giving us an insight into the work of EY. Al thought we did also gain skills like working in a team and public speaking through the exercises we did, it was an Insight day rather than a training programme. I feel like I learnt a lot though
I got to speak to lots of different people in different positions. So i was able to learn a) about the different service lines and b) about the different positions of responsibility within these. Furthermore the panelist’s and speakers were from a range of positions of responsibilities and they all detailed their day to day work
This programme was only two days and yet I feel I really understood the company culture. I got this knowledge through speaking to the different staff at EY that were present at the event. Also I spoke to students who had been provided accommodation and they said that EY had bebe very helpful in this
It was me great knowledge about psosoble career options and the skills required to succeed. It also showed me what aspects there were of each role which in turn helped me to identify what I might like and dislike. It also made me realise that I would like to work for EY in the future
Everything Else
I did not ask to be reimbursed as I live in London and the programme took place in London. However if I had been living further away EY would have reimbursed my travel and even sorted out my accommodation as they did for other students. They provided us with lunch and drinks
Yes there was indeed extensive opportunity to network with other students and employees from EY. We could speak to any of the graduate students and HR staff at any point during our breaks and also could speak to these staff and other staff during the speed networking event. I really enjoyed this
The networking and social event were very very fun. They organised a bowling event for us in the evening of the first day of the programme where they also provided food and beverages. We played air hockey and got to know each other better. The speed networking had a friendly atmosphere
Yes we learnt that EY emoloyees are encouraged to volunteer and to give back to their local communities. We Also learnt about the different diversity and inclusion opportunities that EY offer to their staff. We learnt about the different socials that EY put on for their employees. Was great to hear
Yes I would highly recommend this programme. This is because I feel that the programme gave great insight into EY and it’s work across service lines. Including tax and assurance which are less known parts of their work. It was also a great opportunity to network with different members of staff
