The Role
I have had an amazing time and everyone I have met: from fellow interns, my project team, manager, to my clients, have been absolutely wonderful and very supportive.
I feel extremely valued by my colleagues as I was given much responsibility and the work I have produced were always greatly appreciated.
I was given quite a lot of guidance by my manager, yet he also allows me to learn independently and input my own ideas. I feel that this has allowed me to develop my ability to work independently and it also has a very encouraging effect on me as I feel that my manager trust me to make important decisions on my own and that my ideas are genuinely being valued even as an intern to the company.
I have had many busy days and I have to have a flexible schedule in order to get on top of all my deadlines.
Many
The skills/trainings that I received have not been entirely relevant to my economics degree. However, I was able to apply my art background from A Levels (surprisingly!) and work on tasks that involve digital design which I have been previously exposed to, further developing my skill set; and also work on organising events which I also had previous experience of as the Vice President of my society.
The Company
Both my team and my clients are extremely fun to work with. Great atmosphere to work in!
HR is not very organised - more than half of us were put on the bench for almost a week and they have also pushed back the start dates after we have been given our offers. This messed up the plans for many of us - so despite having a great experience at Accenture, many of us are unsure whether to take up the offer and come back as we will have to wait for more than 18 months before we can start our graduate scheme.
We had a week of induction before our project started - however I do not feel that the week has been entirely useful for the work that I have been doing at my clients or for my personal development. However it was a great opportunity for all of us (interns) to get to know each other. Nevertheless, I feel that the bulk of the things that I have learnt through this internship was from my project instead of the training we received at the beginning.
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Working from home
It is quite appealing as from the people I've met I can see that Accenture is a great place to work in - however HR can be quite unorganised at times.
The Culture
One thing that we never lack at Accenture is social events, of which I am very grateful for!
Central London - rent is quite expensive - can easily go over £250 per week
There were always things to do after work - the trouble is more often the difficulty of getting up the next morning!
There were always things to do outside of work - but you always end up having too much fun socialising which leaves you no time for sleep or do anything else!
