About You
The DEY- Women in Business insight event allowed me learn more about the different service lines which will be very important in helping me choose which service line I wish to join. The activities conducted were very enjoyable and were organised very well which made for a fun and informative few days.
I felt very valued on the insight event as everyone was very friendly and were willing to answer any question that you may have. The social that we attended was very fun and it felt like there was a lot of effort put in to make it more enjoyable for us.
Each table had a table host with us during both of the days who was able to guide and support us with all of the activities and challenges we had to do. Not only this, but they were incredibly helpful with answering any questions that they could about the firm and their role.
The Company
The insight event was run incredibly well with everything running together seamlessly. Despite the fact that everything was on a strict time limit, I never felt like any particular section was being cut short or that I was missing out on any information. The time we were given for each activity was just the right amount.
From the moment I walked into the DEY- Women in Business event the atmosphere was brilliant. Everyone was so friendly and helpful- both the people running the event and the people attending with me. There were plenty of opportunities to interact with those attending at the social, and lots of opportunities to ask questions to EY staff.
The event was very helpful in letting me know what it would be like to work working the company. Not only did events such as the panel address many points about working with EY but there were also more than enough opportunities to ask questions to those who worked specifically within the service line I am interested in.
Everyone was very keen to talk about EY culture and everything I heard was very positive, which helped to reaffirm the positive opinions I had about EY and the culture before attending the event. Again, both the speakers and panel events spoke plenty about the culture, but so did everyone else I spoke to who worked with EY.
The content of the day really helped me to think about the specifics of the area I want to work in, as before I had a much more vague idea of what I wanted to do. I felt like all my questions about the different service lines were answered which was extremely helpful.
Everything Else
Not only was there a speed networking event where we got to speak to people from many different service lines, but also there were plenty of staff around for the duration of the event who were always willing to speak to us which provided brilliant chances for networking.
This was one of the only places where there were not a lot of details given during the event itself. However, the chances to speak to employees of the company both during the event and at the social meant that I was able to find out about activities outside of work this way.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend who wanted to enter the working world of professional services. I felt like it was a very well run and informative event that not only helped me narrow down what I want to do but was also incredibly enjoyable from start to finish.
