About You
I found it was a really informative two days and felt very made at home and comfortable with all my peers and the staff recruitment. I enjoyed the tasks we were given during the two days, and the talks, especially the one on Diversity and Inclusivity which I have an interest in.
The student recruitment team were very friendly and I felt that I could approach them and ask them any question throughout the day. I also felt that EY were very accommodating, providing all the meals, snacks and drinks, and offering us a social which was very enjoyable. This told me I was valued by the company.
We were given many talks throughout the two days, offering guidance and support about jobs at EY, the application process and for the Discover EY- Women in Business event. Throughout the two days, we also had a table host who helped us with tasks and answered any questions that we had.
I think that this event has really informed me on how to succeed at the EY application process as well as what is needed to succeed in the job. I learnt useful information on how to engage with clients, present a pitch or presentation, which I can use in the future.
The Company
The insight event was impeccably structured. The schedule and tasks and talks throughout the two days went very smoothly, and the amount of time given for breaks and lunches was perfect. I felt that talks ended at a good time, before concentration was lost, and we were kept on track.
The general atmosphere was really friendly and accommodating. The other students at the insight were all very talkative and welcoming, and the EY staff were also very warm. The location also felt comfortable and professional, which maintained a good balance for the insight days. I felt very satisfied with it.
It really gave me an insight into what it would be like to work full time at EY. Speaking to all the full time staff and graduates was really informative and I was able to imagine what it would be like working there. I got honest opinions from people about it.
I got a real in depth understanding of the companies culture throughout the two insight days. All the student recruitment staff were very friendly and accommodating which is a reflection of the staff at EY and their culture. The culture was also reiterated throughout the programme that is was about the people.
Everything Else
EY offered to reimburse travel expenses up to £150 which was definitely welcome for lots of people. I personally did not need this service as I was only travelling on the tube through London. Accommodation was also offered in a very nice hotel which I also did not need to use.
In the schedule, there was a networking event that we all got involved in. It was a chance to meet current staff who are working at EY and hear their honest opinions about their role and their culture. We also got to meet people who work at EY through the question panel.
This was something that was not really addressed throughout the two day insight event. We heard more about what individual staff members enjoy doing outside of work such as their hobbies. In terms of activities that EY offer, the only thing I can think of is learning about the Women Network.
