About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with EY for these past two days. I learnt a lot about the company and their service lines and it has given me further insight into what kind of career I would like to persue. I would recommend the Discover EY way insight days to students.
Even though there were a significant number of people here (around 60 or so), I felt valued as an individual due to the warm atmosphere the employees served to create. They were really friendly and inclusive and also their friendly personas made you want to get involved with the activities.
The guidance we all received over the past two days was very extensive. I did not have much knowledge of the day to day roles of tax or assurance, nor did I know much about them as a service line, however by the end of it I had a firm understanding due to the guidance they imparted.
I haven’t had much experience with assessment centres so far, so for me, the skills I learnt here with the mock AC and case studies have really equipped me for next year when it comes to applying for graduate roles. Additionally, presenting to a big audience has improved my communication skills which will be invaluable to later life.
The Company
Extremely. The two days had a clear structure and agenda and the activities were planned right down to a T. We had a lot of breaks and were given an ample lunch break and I feel like the topics covered over the two days really targeted everyone’s questions and concerns.
So warm and friendly. No one was embarrassed to ask any questions because everyone felt really at home and comfortable. Even during the presentations which was quite scary. It was really enjoyable and I am glad I have done it and would throughly recommend it to any students interested in professional services
A lot. The inspiring panel event where influential women from the business spoke, really gave an insight into the culture of the business and what your role would entail.
By having so many Q&A sessions it was easy to see what the culture was like at EY. It is so clear that they really value you as a person and want you to succeed and do well.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed for my travel expenses and others were put up in a hotel as they lived far away from the event.
Yes, we had a speed networking event from women from all the service lines.
