About You
Commencing the week with apprehension I was quickly put at ease by both employees and fellow candidates. A wide breadth of divisions were covered, all in much detail, in a hands-on and interactive manner. Banking was made compelling and thought-provoking.
Definitely more so than once expected - contributing to such a successful firm I felt my opinion was listened to and taken on board.
Felt I could approach anyone with any question, albeit a silly one!
100% - Entered the week wanting to take IBK forward and came out understanding a division completely new to me and choosing this for the assessment centre!
The Company
A lot of time devoted to covering all aspects of the industry. Having the opportunity to visit 2 divisions was also great. Perhaps if all sectors were able to work shadow this would aid structuring further.
Non - intimidating and non - competitive for the majority of the week. Surrounding yourself with like-minded people was the best part.
A huge amount - not only are 2 whole days devoted to divisional work but the networking sessions allowed us to build and develop our brands and skill set within a nurturing environment.
Employees spoke about their various roles but perhaps work shadowing in all divisions would improve this.
Definitely reflected the company to what is states it to be, not contrived nor inauthentic.
Found divisions I knew little to 0 knowledge on before, assisting me on choosing this for the AC Centre.
Everything Else
Travel was reimbursed and excellent hotel provided for those living outside Greater London.
Many! From networking dinners to formal settings to casual breaks - plenty of opportunities across a wide board of employees
Employees genuinely wanted to be there with a great interest in Spring Weekers - gained insight into ares aside from the bank!
From sports to women's trust to volunteering and everything in between.
Without a doubt - the best way to learn about the banking sector before making important decisions. If its for you, you get a foot in the door for later opportunities. If its not for you - you know within a week rather than spending a summer/ year as an intern!
