About You
The insight was great fun where I got to meet lots of different people as well as gain an insightful knowledge into the divisions at BAML. I also got to see what a great culture BAML have.
I thought BAML did a great job of making us feel valued within the week. Whether this was Head of departments giving speeches to us or MD's taking there time to attend networking dinners to talk to you.
Support was always available within the week if you needed it at any time which made me feel happy, in case I ever became stuck with a task or was unsure what to do.
The information and skills will help me more when I leave university and go to find a job. For example, they helped us with skills and tips within assessment centres as well as team building exercises and how best to work within a team. This could be taken into my degree studies when being tasked to participate in group projects.
The Company
The week was very well structured with lots of different events for us to do. Things from team building exercises, to networking events and networking dinners which was a highlight of my week where we got to meet many different people that work at the bank.
The general atmosphere was positive throughout the week and what I liked about it was the fact everyone there was seemed generally interested in gaining more information at every opportunity they could.
They invested a lot of time in us by exposing us to lots of different level of people within the bank from people at the lower levels to MD's at the top.
I made me understand the roles in each division more and what is required of each role on a day to day basis. The companies culture was very good on top of this so all the roles, each person knew exactly what was required of them.
It helped me massively when understanding the companies culture, it taught me how they respect there employees and the extra mile they go to help them get a good work-life balance within their roles.
It was very valuable in helping choose what division I was interested in and what I would expect to be doing within each division on a daily basis.
Everything Else
They provide accommodation if you come from a long distance
There was so much opportunity to network. This was either through informal session, panels, drinks or networking dinners.
There was an opportunity every single day to network with lots of different people which I really enjoyed.
Yes we found out about the vast extra circular activities the bank run outside of work.
This whole week was a great insight and experience which I would recommend to anyone, not just a friend. If an opportunity which you cannot turn down.
