About You
I can honestly say that this spring internship was one of my best experinces. The whole programme was very engaging and fun. There were multiple activities such as trading games and case studies that would really get your brain active. Being able to meet and speak to so many people within Barclays was also amazing.
Barclays honestly has one of the best cultures which reflects through the entire Bank. Every single person I met at Barclays was willing to take time and listen to what I had to say. Even the senior management are more than happy to meet up with you.
There was plenty guidance and support during the insight programme which really helped everyone to gain a better insight into what their perfect divisional preference was. Everyone you meet will proactively try and give you guidance and support. People at Barclays are extremely friendly but also very intelligent which really helps when your seeking further guidance on things.
I feel the spring insight programme will really build you as a person and give you a much better understanding of where you fit within the bank. You will take away multiple skills and build your knowledge of the financial industry.
The Company
HR does an amazing job to make your experience perfect. A lot is put into these spring weeks. Everything is well organised during the spring week which makes things less stressful and more enjoyable.
The atmosphere was extremely good. It’s hard to emphasis enough on how great Barclays culture really is. You’ll feel comfortable during the entire time you’re at Barclays despite being challenged. Everyone is welcoming and happy which does make a big difference.
Barclays allowed me to have a lot of exposure to to many people especially senior management. This really helped with my development as I was able to learn a lot from everyone I met. There are also multiple talks which are highly insightful and will build your knowledge within markets.
Being able to work shadow and speak to people really gave me a big insight on what would be expected on a day to day basis at Barclays. Overall, I believe working at Barclays would make me happy as I’ll be surrounded by such great individuals.
One of the best things the insight programme does is help you to understand the company culture. This will really motivate you to want to work for Barclays because of how good the culture really is.
I’d say the content was highly valuable and it is important to make sure you put in 100% to actually realise the value of the content. There were so many opportunities provided that would help you gain further insight into what sector would be perfect for you within Barclays.
Everything Else
Everyone is given £250 to cover any expenses they have incurred.
The opportunities were honestly endless. During every lunch you’d have opportunities to network with the people that have given talks during that day. There were also times that were allocated to networking with senior management.
There were plenty opportunities which allowed you to have interaction will many different people.
This information was generally found out through asking questions which is very encouraged during the spring week.
I’d say 100%. The insight programme was amazing and I feel extremely previlaged to have been able to be part of such a wonderful experience.
