About You
I enjoyed it very much as I got a very comprehensive insight into the firm. We got to shadow two different lines of business and had many presentations from a variety of people from all parts of the firm.
I felt valued during my time at the firm. The made an effort to develop our personal brand and enhance skills which are required to be successful in this industry.
We had HR on call and by email we could respond to them with any needs we had. Employees also went out of their way to help us when we contacted them.
The soft skills we learnt such as presenting and developing our personal brand can be applied. However, the technical knowledge cannot since I have a non finance background.
The Company
There was a very comprehensive timetable for the entire week detailing times and locations.
The general atmosphere was that of which where people were very keen to help other out and to learn a lot about the industry.
Very comprehensive presentations and challenges which looked over skills such as presenting yourself and your brand, public speaking, collaboration.
Again a very comprehensive insight due to the fact there were many times where we could meet representatives from across the spectrum of seniority from the firm.
There was a very big emphasis on company culture during all the various presentations in the week.
They had many representatives and presentations. But we could only shadow 2 lines of businesses.
Everything Else
They reimburse travel.
So many opportunities from, simple networking evenings to networking dinners to multiple business panels.
There was a networking dinner, very informal setting got a very good opportunity to chat to senior members of the firm. Would've preferred there to be one social event just with the interns to get away from the corporate vibe.
There were business panels and through informal chats and networking dinners where employees were chatting about the different types of activities they could get involved in.
Definitely I would encourage a friend to apply if they want a truly comprehensive insight into an investment bank.
