About You
I really enjoyed the insight week with Barclays. It was incredibly well organised from Day 1, with numerous interesting speakers from different roles across different divisions of the bank. we also had great networking opportunities with other interns, grads and other people from the bank. Our campus recruiters were extremely helpful with answering any questions and organised the week really well.
I felt really valued at Barclays. Though it was a little daunting to begin with, I instantly felt included in the Barclays culture. I was made to feel as though I really deserved my place of the Spring Insight week and everyone was doing their best to advise and help us throughout our time there.
From accepting my offer to the Barclays Spring Insight programme, to the end of the week, I received a huge amount of guidance and support from [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] our campus recruiters. They were always there to answer every question we had and offered a lot of support in getting the most out of our week with Barclays.
I learnt a huge amount at my time with Barclays. Even from day 1 when we did personality tests and learnt how to recognise different personalities within your team and use those to your strengths, to the final day where we did a presentation and debate, I have developed lots of skills that I will take forward to my degree and beyond.
The Company
The Barclays Spring Insight Week was incredibly well structured. Each day was packed full of different talks, panels, discussions and events which meant we were very busy and gained a huge amount. I was so impressed with how it was structured and cannot thank the team enough for organising it all.
The atmosphere was great. Although we were nervous to begin with and didn't know anyone, our group quickly got to know each other and subsequently we all helped each other out throughout the week. The atmosphere inside the bank was very welcoming and everyone was willing to help us and answer any question we may have.
I truly felt like the company were really investing in my personal development and learning experience. They truly went above and beyond in providing us with the best possible start to our careers in finance and I really felt as though they cared about our development. Couldn't recommend the company enough.
Although we weren't shadowing a specific person, in each of our talks with various people from different divisions of the bank we were told about what it would be like to work there with a full time role. Everyone was so willing to answer our questions and we were offered great advice.
The company culture is amazing at Barclays. I had been told that before going, but was truly surprised at how great it actually was. We were constantly reminded of the company culture and it was evident in each employee. There was also a great emphasis on diversity and inclusion which was great.
The content of the day really helped me to decide on my future career path. I came into the week unable to decide which division I wanted to be interviewed for. Each day was filled with a variety of talks and activities from different members of Barclays, which really helped me to see where I'd fit.
Everything Else
We were reimbursed if travelling down to London from elsewhere. We were also paid a one of sum at the end of the week to cover our day to day expenses. This was very well organised and explained to us. The campus recruiters kept us fully informed at all times.
On the first day we had networking drinks with a number of people on the graduate scheme and beyond. This was a great opportunity to get to know more people in the bank and truly understand what it was like to work there. Everyone was very open to helping us which was great.

During their talks employees told us a lot about their background and how they came to be in the financial services industry. They discussed openly with us what interests them and their career journeys which was really interesting for us. They also informed us about different groups within Barclays and actives that they get up to.
Absolutely. I was incredibly impressed with how Barclays organised the entire Spring Insight programme and couldn't recommend it more. I learnt a huge amount not only about the organisation and the different opportunities I have in my career, but also learnt a lot about myself that I will use throughout my life.
