About You
I really enjoyed the spring insight week as it consolidated my knowledge on my preferred lines of division, whilst also learning about the culture of the bank.
I felt quite valued, particularly as I was given the opportunity to network with employees of a high position (e.g. Managing Director) and all the employees wanted to learn more about the students and our motivations for applying to BofAML.
Quite a fair bit of support was provided during the insight week. A good example would be the preparation provided to us before the assessment day, understanding more about how it works and how we can best prepare ourselves for the assessments.
I have been able to build upon transferrable skills that I would be able to use if I were to work in a bank but also elsewhere.
The Company
Well structured, with a mixture of sessions to develop our skills needed to work in a bank and sessions relevant to our preferred lines of division.
It was overall a very welcoming atmosphere where students were encouraged to ask questions, helping us expand our knowledge on the bank and its services.
Quite a lot. As previously mentioned, the Bank has a very open culture, encouraging students to ask questions so that they can learn more about BofAML. Additionally, the bank has provided numerous sessions to help us improve our teamwork and communication skills.
To a high extent. We were provided an insight from people of various positions and from various divisions about their day-to-day tasks and how it is to work in a large bank such as BofAML.
By speaking to different employees, we were able to learn more about how they find the culture and how open it is, providing specific examples to their role and how they have interacted with the bank.
Extremely valuable as I got to understand the daily roles and activities of employees in my preferred lines of division. I will also partake in other similar schemes to help me gain an overview of a variety of industries.
Everything Else
There were several networking opportunities, such as a networking dinner and a networking reception. This gave us the opportunity to speak to employees from a spectrum of divisions, divisions that I may not have previously heard about or been interested in.
They were extremely useful and I liked that some were more informal than others, giving the opportunity to be able to properly speak to employees about what they enjoy about working at BofAML.
We learnt more about the different networks at the bank and how employees can get involved. For example, there is a language club hosted by employees to help colleagues learn new languages and understand different cultures.
Definitely, it is a great way of learning about the Bank as well as learning about if you would fit in the bank. The insight programme gives you the tools needed to understand how to best prepare yourself for a job in banking.
