    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very structured insight program. Personally, I really enjoyed the program and I think I represent the majority of my fellow interns. There was a good balance of learning and practicing. We not only got to know more about the bank but also were able to learn how to become a stronger applicant

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Everyone treats you professionally although we are still first year undergrads. Since we were not tasked with actual work, it was more us learning from them instead of us putting in work. The first presentation they gave was on code of conduct and how those who are unprofessional are met with severe consequences.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • Throughout the whole program, we were under the support of the HR team of 3. They were with us all the time. What I found to be the best is that I could ask them any question at anytime about anything that I had in my mind regarding applications and future graduate programs

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • What I have learnt were more based around what are the necessary skills for a job at JPM instead of our studies. In fact, degrees should not matter as much for applications for JPM. All their presentations were focused on how to become a better candidate for JPM's programs and internships.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The program was very well structured. It ran everyday from 9am - 5pm. We were able to learn a lot but also have enough breaks in between. The program was a good mixture of information absorption and learning from job shadowing. First day was mostly for introduction and ice breakers.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable. It is unlike most expectations of competitiveness between interns. Every worker will welcome your questions and will answer to the best of their knowledge (most importantly, very honest which is a big plus). Regarding the fellow interns, we were able to get to know each other very well.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The bank gave multiple presentations on the overall strucutre of their firm and the specific division we applied for. In addition, they held a CV and interview workshop which proved to be extremely useful. Countless networking sessions were very insightful as we got to learn about the job of both graduated and those in more senior roles.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • There were career panels with graduates and senior figures about their role and their work-life-balance. In addition, there were networking events again with both graduates and senior figures but also those who have just finished their summer internship (the idea behind this was because they would have a fresh memory of the summer internship and the applications)

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Everyone at the firm seemed to like the company because of its culture. The diversity, the code of conduct and the support the new graduates receive from their seniors. Talking to the graduates, they find it very easy to ask questions from their seniros which is not very common in the fast paced banking industry

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I went to the insight program without a clear career path in the banking industry. Thanks to the program, now I know exactly which division to apply for. Every day provided us with an opportunity to learn about a career at the bank. Although the program solely focuse don 1 division, we got to talk to the workers who have a fairly broad understanding of the other divisions and what they do

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Because I qualified for a free accommodation, I was offered a hotel, transportation was provided by the firm. Foods were already offered at the bank. I also received a travel card for 7 days which was very useful. Overall, I would say that we were adequately accommodated according to our needs

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • 3/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • We had 1 networking over lunch with those who have just finished their summer internship and are waiting to start their graduate program. In addition, we were also able to network with senior figures at the bank over drinks which was well structured as we had to rotate every 15 minutes

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes. JPM provides an ample amount of "societies" inside the bank ranging from LGBT to BME as well as sports and other activities. The bank actively promotes a variety of activities which is a big selling point of the firm. There was a presentation on philanthropy & JPM held by employees

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
