About You
I found the insight week very interesting and knowledgable. We received an insight into each departments and sector of the business through various presentations as well as had not only Q&As with senior managers but also had the opportunity to work shadow in a particular sector. In particular the site visits was fantastic.
Everybody at the business was very friendly. One could be eating at the staff canteen and other employees would be happy to talk to you and to answer any questions. This made it easier to gain more out of the insight week as it made it easier to gain contact details.
Throughout the insight, there was always guidance and support from either the head of the Insight week or even staff around the office. Any questions could easily be answered.
The skills developed and information received was fantastic. The presentations was incredibly detailed and the presenters always answered in detail and depth. The knowledge gained from this insight will help me not only with my university work but also in my career and in applying for future roles within Mace as I now understand how the business operates in comparison to going just on theory.
The Company
The insight week was well structured with information and a time table clearly set out before the insight week with everything running on time.
The general atmosphere during this insight was great with other students being very welcoming and friendly. Photos and videos from site were exchanged as well as contact details to stay in touch. The insight leaders were also very friendly and open.
In terms of personal training and development, Mace provided us with application tips, interview preparation advice and techniques, Assessment Centre workshop tips.
The insight week helped a lot, especially through the presentations as I was able to get first hand knowledge and experience of what my role would entail which was further helped through the work experience.
The Insight helped understand the company culture as they explained to us the principles and how the business works and operates.
This Insight week was very valuable as by having more information about the role through he presentations and work shadowing I am more aware of what my role entails and with the opportunities available for young graduates, Mace sounds a fantastic place to work.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed expenses for the site trips around London on the TFL
There was plenty of opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm through the work-shadowing and interacting with employees in the canteen.
There was not a lot of networking/social events organised by Mace for the Insight Week yet opportunities are arranged by the students themselves
We did find a little information about what employees can get involved in through the Mace Foundation Charity branch
This insight was incredible as it was so detailed and knowledgeable as well as the opportunity to make contacts and ask questions. Without a doubt it will have helped in the application process.
