The Role
The placement was fun and challenging, I am not sure, however, that this is my dream job.
My colleagues were extremely welcoming and were happy to answer any questions that I had/help me with any work.
I had a buddy and a counsellor. Both were very supportive and helpful!
I was generally very busy with lots of meetings and follow up work to complete. I only had a couple of days where I didn't have enough to do.
I prepared several important claims and letters but, of course, these were checked over by someone more senior before being sent out. I also participated in a day of client hospitality.
I feel the experience of working within a fast paced office environment has greatly helped me to prepare for my future career.
The Company
Everyone within the team had a great rapport, with lots of joking and banter throughout the time I was there.
The HR team in charge of organising the SIPs were very efficient.
Due to my showing of interest, i was taken on a huge variety of high level meetings which greatly increased the knowledge which I gained from the placement. Furthermore, once again after my showing of interest, I was provided with a variety of learning materials specific to the technicalities of the job.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
They will be my graduate employer.
The Culture
Not within my office. During induction and the end of internship ball, however, the social scene was great.
Much more affordable than London but it is still possible to live in a metropolitan city environment.
I was in Birmingham and the nightlife on offer there is brilliant - a huge variety.
Yes, we had a few meals but some of the other teams socialised a lot more outside of work than mine did.
